On May 22, 2026, Lokamata Rani Rashmoni Mission celebrated International Biodiversity Day under the theme "Acting locally for global impact". The LRRM team conducted an awareness program and a plantation drive with women and students participating. As part of their local action, the team also successfully restored Abhay Pukur.
Every small step counts toward a greener, healthier ecosystem.

As a part of the celebration of World Bee Day 2026, a Bee Hotel and Pollinator Garden were established at Ambikanagar Haripriya High School to create a safe habitat for bees and other beneficial pollinators. The initiative aims to promote biodiversity conservation, environmental education and awareness among students about the vital role of pollinators in agriculture and ecosystem health. The Pollinator Garden with host and nectar plants and the Bee Hotel together will support native bees, butterflies and other insects while encouraging students to actively participate in nature conservation activities.

Previously, indigenous women of Kultali proved that pig farming is a profitable livelihood option capable of transforming socio-economic conditions. Inspired by their success, 13 more indigenous women have now come forward to start their own pig farms.

This initiative reflects growing confidence among rural women to adopt sustainable livelihood opportunities and move towards financial independence. We are hopeful that these efforts will create many more inspiring success stories in the near future.

LRRM team and Mr. Anup Chhatui an experienced fish farmer and trainer of Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture (CIFA) interacted with villagers regarding importance of rainwater harvesting and aquaculture.
