Basic Practical Skills (BPS) Course – 27 & 28 November 2025

🌟 Enhancing Clinical Competence Through Hands-On Training at SCHS 🌟

Symbiosis Centre for Health Skills (SCHS), SIU, successfully conducted the Basic Practical Skills (BPS) Course on 27 & 28 November 2025 at our high-fidelity simulation centre, Lavale, Pune.

This two-day workshop brought together an exceptional team of faculty led by Dr. Sameer Umranikar (Princess Anne Hospital, UK), along with senior OBGYN experts from SMCW & SUHRC, BJGMC & Sassoon Hospitals, and MIMER.

Participants engaged in a strong mix of demonstrations, clinical reasoning, and hands-on practice across key modules, including:
πŸ”Ή Suturing techniques – interrupted, continuous, subcuticular, mattress & figure-of-eight sutures
πŸ”Ή Instrument handling & knot tying
πŸ”Ή Abdominal entry
πŸ”Ή Basic hysteroscopy, uterine evacuation & gynecological examinations
πŸ”Ή Basic laparoscopy
πŸ”Ή Emergency obstetric management – postpartum haemorrhage, shoulder dystocia, and more
πŸ”Ή Assisted vaginal delivery workshops

With structured rotations, simulation-based learning, and expert feedback, participants strengthened essential OBGYN skills required for safe and effective clinical practice.

The Symbiosis Centre for Health Skills (SCHS) successfully hosted the Care of the Critically Ill Surgical Patient (CCrISP) workshop on 7th and 8th November 2025, bringing together surgical and anesthesia professionals for an immersive two-day learning experience.

Led by Course Director Dr. Satish Dharap and Co-Director Dr. Dnyanesh Belekar, along with an esteemed faculty team, participants engaged in:
πŸ”Ή Interactive clinical scenarios on managing critically ill surgical patients
πŸ”Ή Small group sessions covering respiratory failure, tracheostomy care, shock management, nutrition, and more
