RAJOURI TERROR MODULE UPDATE

During further investigation into the terror module in case FIR No. 95/2026 of PS Dharamsal, Rajouri, it has emerged that the following three accused persons, all residents of Kot Charwal were allegedly part of a logistic support module linked to the proscribed terrorist outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT):

1. Mohd Azam son of Ali Bahadur
2. Zakir Hussain son of Ghulam Hussain
3. Mohd Mushtaq son of Mohd Iqbal

According to the investigation, the accused allegedly harboured and facilitated the movement of terrorists associated with the proscribed outfit.

Their alleged role in assisting,harbouring and facilitating the movement of terrorists who were subsequently killed in an encounter at Chassana, Reasi, in 2023 has also emerged.

The investigation further revealed that the accused had allegedly provided shelter and logistical assistance to multiple terrorist groups and facilitated their movement across the Rajouri-Reasi districts and through the Pir Panjal region up to Shopian.

During the course of the investigation, today on 17.09.2026, one pistol along with a magazine and ammunition, besides two Chinese grenades, were also recovered on the disclosure of the accused.

Further investigation is underway.

*JAMMU (RURAL) POLICE SEIZE TWO JCBs INVOLVED IN ILLEGAL MINING AT BAJALTA*

*Jammu,16-09-2026*

Continuing its *crackdown on illegal mining and unauthorized* extraction of minor minerals, Jammu Rural Police seized two JCB machines found involved in illegal mining in the Challani Sarthan area under Police Post Sidhra.

The police party led by I/C PP Sidhra PSI Abhishek Singh seized two JCBs bearing *Registration Nos. JK02AS-50652 and JK21G-1045,* which were found involved in illegal mining activities in the area during night.

The concerned *District Mining Officer (DMO), Jammu,* has been informed accordingly for further necessary legal action under the applicable mining laws and regulations.

Jammu Rural Police *reiterated that strict action will continue against illegal mining and unauthorized activities* to protect natural resources, curb violations and safeguard government revenue.

*DC Rajouri holds public outreach camp at Kalakote as part of Weekly Block Diwas

‎‎KALAKOTE, SEPTEMBER 09: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Abhishek Sharma, today convened a public outreach camp at the Municipal Hall, Kalakote, as part of the Weekly Block Diwas, providing the locals residents an opportunity to put forth their issues and concerns before the district administration.

‎‎During the interaction, the public raised various issues related to water, power supply, road connectivity and municipal services. The people also sought installation of CCTV cameras in the municipal area for strengthening safety and security arrangements.

‎‎The Deputy Commissioner gave a patient hearing to the issues raised by the public and assured that their genuine concerns would be addressed on priority. He directed the concerned officers to take necessary measures for timely resolution of the genuine grievances and ensure effective delivery of essential services.

‎Regarding the road connectivity damaged due to recent incessant rains, the Deputy Commissioner assured the public that permanent restoration works would be undertaken to improve road connectivity and facilitate smoother movement.

‎‎The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that providing basic amenities and essential services at the doorsteps of the people remains a priority of the district administration. He said concerted efforts are being made to address public concerns at the grassroots level and ensure that the benefits of government services and development reach every section of society.

‎‎As part of the visit, the Deputy Commissioner also inspected the office of the Tehsildar Kalakote and reviewed its functioning and delivery of public services. He stressed upon the officers to remain accessible to the public and ensure prompt, transparent and citizen-centric service delivery.

‎‎He further called upon the field functionaries to maintain close coordination, regularly assess local requirements and work proactively towards resolving issues faced by the people.

‎‎Among the others, Additional Deputy Commissioner Kalakote Mohd Tanvir; Tehsildar Kalakote and other officers were present on the occasion.
