A worker honey bee has a remarkably short life during the active season. Depending on conditions, a worker may live for only about 5 to 7 weeks while spending nearly all of that time working for the colony.
During her short lifetime, she can visit hundreds to thousands of flowers while collecting nectar and pollen. These countless trips help support the entire hive and allow the bees to gather the resources they need to survive.
The honey she helps produce is also surprisingly small when measured by a single bee. A worker bee may contribute only about 1/12 of a teaspoon of honey throughout her lifetime.
That tiny amount represents an incredible amount of effort. The bee must fly from flower to flower, collect nectar, return to the hive, and help process and store it as honey.
Although one bee’s contribution may seem insignificant, millions of small efforts combine to create the honey and resources that sustain an entire colony. Every drop is the result of countless journeys and hours of work.
The next time you see a spoonful of honey, it is worth remembering how much work lies behind it. For a honey bee, even a tiny amount represents a significant part of her short working life.

Imagine being an archaeologist in the year 3025 and discovering a three-meter-tall bronze statue at the bottom of the Mediterranean. At first glance, it might look like an ancient Greek sculpture, but then you would notice the unmistakable face of Handsome Squidward from SpongeBob SquarePants. That strange combination was actually created and deliberately placed underwater by Seattle-based artist and YouTuber Sunday Nobody in 2025.
The sculpture combines Handsome Squidward's exaggerated face with the famous pose of the Discobolus, the ancient Greek discus thrower associated with the sculptor Myron. The original Greek bronze dates to around 460–450 BC and is now lost, although Roman copies survive. Sunday Nobody turned that historical pose into an intentionally ridiculous modern artwork, spending approximately $25,000 to have the huge bronze sculpture made.
The statue was about three meters tall and weighed roughly 500 kilograms. A second full-size copy was also produced, along with smaller replicas that were sold to fans. The artist's website confirms that full-size patinated-bronze versions and miniature Squidward statues were offered for sale.
The most unusual part came when Sunday Nobody and his team transported the sculpture to the Halkidiki region of Greece and lowered it into the sea. Reports say the statue was placed on inflatable rafts and released into the water, eventually reaching a depth of roughly nine meters. The bizarre goal was not to create a traditional underwater monument, but to leave behind something that might one day make future archaeologists wonder what ancient civilization could possibly have created it.
He also thought about whether the bronze would survive underwater for a very long time. Reports say he consulted an academic archaeologist about materials and chose bronze partly because of its durability in seawater. However, the project later attracted attention from Greek authorities. The Hellenic Coast Guard investigated the placement, and an underwater inspection found that the statue was not located in a designated underwater archaeological site or a specially protected environmental zone.
The joke behind the entire project is the idea that thousands of years from now, someone might discover the statue without knowing anything about modern internet culture. They could see a muscular human-like figure frozen in an ancient Greek pose, only to realize that its face belongs to a cartoon character. Of course, today's world is so heavily documented that completely fooling future archaeologists is probably impossible. But that is exactly what makes the project entertaining. It is less about actually deceiving scientists and more about imagining how strange our modern culture might look when separated from its original context.
Sunday Nobody has built his reputation around similarly elaborate and absurd projects, turning internet jokes into enormous physical creations. The Handsome Squidward statue takes that idea even further by combining ancient art, modern pop culture, internet humor, and a real underwater installation. Whether people see it as art, trolling, or simply an incredibly expensive joke, the result is certainly memorable: somewhere beneath the waters of Halkidiki, a bronze Handsome Squidward is now waiting for the future to discover it.

Norah O’Neill’s journey into aviation was far from easy. She worked at night serving drinks while spending her days taking flight lessons and building the skills needed to become a professional pilot.
To save money for her aviation training, O’Neill reportedly lived for a time in a furnace room. Despite the difficult conditions, she remained focused on her goal of becoming a pilot.
Her determination eventually helped her break barriers in the aviation industry. She continued developing her flying skills and worked toward opportunities that were rarely available to women at the time.
In August 1980, O’Neill made aviation history when she became the first woman to fly passengers on a Boeing 747. Her achievement represented a major milestone for women in commercial aviation.
Her story is remembered as an example of determination and sacrifice. Instead of allowing financial difficulties and limited opportunities to stop her, she continued working toward her dream of flying large passenger aircraft.

Tim Walters, a school custodian in Albany, New York, faced serious financial difficulties while trying to keep up with housing costs, child support, and other expenses. With limited options, he reportedly found an unusual solution at his workplace.
He secretly began using an unused storage room at the school as a place to sleep. The small room gradually became a makeshift living space, allowing him to stay there instead of paying rent that he could not afford.
Walters reportedly lived in the room for more than six months. The space was not designed to be a home, but it provided him with a private place to sleep while he continued working at the school.
His situation remained unnoticed for months before school officials eventually discovered that he had been staying inside the building. The discovery revealed how difficult his financial circumstances had become.
The story highlights the challenges that people can face when housing costs, family obligations, and everyday expenses become overwhelming. It also shows the lengths someone may go to when they feel they have very few affordable options.

Karen Gillan shaved her head to play Nebula in Guardians of the Galaxy. It was a major transformation for the role, as Nebula’s appearance required a completely different look from Karen’s natural appearance.
When she first joined the movie, Karen believed the role would be quite small. She reportedly expected to film for only around eight days, thinking Nebula would be a minor villain with limited screen time.
At the time, Nebula was not expected to become one of the more important characters in the Marvel story. Karen therefore had no idea that the role would eventually continue across multiple movies.
Her decision to shave her head became an unforgettable part of her transformation into Nebula. The character’s distinctive blue appearance was then created through extensive makeup, prosthetics, and visual effects.
As the Marvel story continued, Nebula’s importance grew significantly. She developed from a supporting villain into a much more complex character with an important emotional connection to the larger story.
What started as a role Karen expected to finish in just a few days eventually became one of her most recognizable roles. Her transformation into Nebula helped make the character a memorable part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. 😮
