🚨 Shameful Act of Environmental Pollution at Dal Lake 🚨
It is extremely unfortunate that an irresponsible individual has dumped kitchen waste on the Dal Lake Bund near Laam Boulevard Road. Such reckless behaviour not only pollutes the pristine environment of our world-famous Dal Lake but also reflects a complete disregard for public health and civic responsibility.
📍 The GPS-tagged photograph of the location is attached with this post as evidence.
I earnestly request the J&K Lake Conservation & Management Authority (JKLCMA) and the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) to take immediate and strict legal action against the person responsible for this environmental crime.
I also urge JKLCMA to identify the offender by reviewing the CCTV cameras installed around Dal Lake and ensure that the guilty person is penalized under the applicable environmental and municipal laws. Such irresponsible acts must not go unpunished, as they encourage others to damage our precious natural heritage.
Dal Lake is the pride of Kashmir. Protecting it is the collective responsibility of every citizen. Let us all stand together against littering and environmental pollution.

🚨 Urgent Public Grievance – Surface Drainage Blockage at Patti Brein 🚨
The residents of Patti Brein wish to draw the attention of the concerned authorities towards the severe blockage of the surface drain located in front of the main gate of Al Huda Masjid Sharief, Patti Brein.
Despite repeated requests and personal representations made to the Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE), City Roads Division SMC and the Ward Officer, Ward No. 1, Srinagar Municipal Corporation, no effective action has been taken so far. Unfortunately, this issue has remained unresolved for the last 2–3 years, causing immense inconvenience to the local residents and worshippers visiting the mosque.
At present, the drain is overflowing, creating unhygienic conditions, obstructing pedestrian movement, and causing serious difficulties for the general public and Namazis. More importantly, the overflowing water is continuously damaging the adjoining main road, resulting in the wastage of valuable public infrastructure and taxpayers' money. Roads are not constructed every year, and neglecting basic drainage maintenance only accelerates their deterioration.
For the information of the concerned authorities and the public, a GPS-tagged video showing the exact location and present condition of the blocked drain is attached with this post as evidence of the ground reality. The footage clearly demonstrates the extent of the problem and the urgent need for intervention.
The residents strongly urge the concerned authorities to take immediate corrective measures, clear the blocked drain, and ensure a permanent solution to prevent further damage to public infrastructure and continued suffering of the local population.
We hope that the Srinagar Municipal Corporation will act promptly and responsibly in the larger public interest.

🚨 Serious Concern: Non-Availability of Cooking Gas in Brein Area 🚨
Residents of Brein area are facing severe hardship due to the non-availability of cooking gas for the past 28 days. Despite booking refills online through Indane (Indian Oil Gas Company), consumers receive OTP confirmations on their registered mobile numbers. However, shockingly, within 2 days, the status shows “Delivered” — even though no gas cylinder is actually delivered.
This raises serious questions: 👉 Where are these gas refills going?
👉 Why are false delivery updates being shown?
👉 Is there black marketing happening at the cost of common people?
The concerned agency, New Paradise Gas Agency Khonakhan Dalgate, has failed to provide timely and genuine service, leaving families struggling — even during important occasions.
While the government claims adequate bulk stock of LPG, the ground reality is completely different. People are suffering daily due to this negligence.
⚠️ We urge the J&K Government and concerned authorities to: ✔️ Immediately investigate this issue
✔️ Ensure proper delivery of booked gas refills
✔️ Take strict action against the agencies involved
Enough is enough. Basic necessities like cooking gas should not become a daily struggle.
