At the time, the advice felt almost ordinary. It took years - and navigating the complexities of adulthood - to understand its true weight. Today, my greatest daily effort is keeping alive the person that my teacher saw in me.

Rama, the jewel among kings, is always victorious; I worship Rama, the Lord of Goddess Sita. By Rama, the terrifying armies of demons were completely destroyed, and to that Rama, I offer my deepest salutations. There is no greater refuge or supreme destination other than Rama, and I am a humble servant of that Rama. May my mind always remain entirely absorbed in Rama; O Lord Rama, please uplift and deliver me.
