AITA For Sending My Cheating Ex-Wife Back to the US With Just $10k?

I a foreigner (was 22) dated a girl (was 20) from the us for a couple years and then we married,

I wanted to move back to my home country and told her I would wait if she wanted to finish college before moving with me, she said it was fine and dropped out although it was her last year.

Now at this point I wasn’t just a 24 year old foreign dude I was a 24 year old foreign dude with extremely wealthy parents, so she knew she was coming to a luxurious lifestyle.

Anyways fast forward to last year I’m 32 and she is 30

And I can’t say much good things about her for the last 4 years, she didn’t really do anything with her time, I offered her many business start ups and she refused.

And she topped it all off with cheating.

Then when divorce procedures began she had some weird idea about divorce and thought just because we married in the us, I would be obligated to pay her alimony in my country and that 50% of my assets were being spilt up with her, although here we don’t have alimony, it’s just that the woman usually gets some $10k and that’s it.

So when she found out she went mental and started screaming and crying and telling me I ruined her and her child’s life (she had a kid when she was 18)

I rented them an apartment to live in and paying their bills until the pandemic clears and then we are...

AITA For My boyfriend made fun of me in a store?

I (24F) got some money back from my tax return and decided to invest some of it in a new laptop. It came up as available at a local superstore just a couple of miles from me and my bf (30M) who helped me pick out the laptop and I decided to go buy it. So we made it to the electronics section and got some help from an employee, turns out they didn't have it at the store. I'd read online that they had 'limited stock' at this store and were out of stock at others, but apparently limited stock doesn't mean in stock at the store. When I mentioned this my bf and the employee were both smirking and then laughing at me, with bf saying "it's common knowledge limited stock means it's in a warehouse somewhere and not at the store duh". Well okay, I had a stupid moment, I didn't know/realize that. Oh well. I just smiled and just said "well I'll just be ordering online then no big deal" and we left that area. My bf and I continued to browse the store because why not.

Thing is, as we went around the store, my bf kept making fun of me for not knowing about the limited stock thing. He got louder about it as we went down the aisles and kept asking, "did you just think they kept a whole stock of those things there? Do you realize how little stock they actually keep of stuff at stores?" I got more irritated as we went on, but just shrugged it off...

AITA for “disrespecting” my future in-laws and their religion?

I’m on mobile and typing this out on my 15 min work break so sorry for any typos and weird formatting!

I (27f) am engaged to my partner (30m). It’s relevant to note that my husband is Caucasian and I’m Indigenous/Native American (I’m fine identifying as either).

A situation has developed over the last few weeks with my partner’s family. So we are planning two wedding ceremonies, a catholic ceremony for his family and a ceremony from my culture for my family - my parents will be attending the catholic ceremony and my future in-laws are invited to the cultural ceremony.

My partner has been extremely helpful, understanding and patient during the planning process. The problem started when we met with the church folks to go over some ceremony basics. The priest (?) gave us a rundown of the words he will be saying and I asked if we could edit them a little. Long story short - my ask has resulted in the priest/father (?) refusing to do the ceremony and my in-laws taking back their blessing of our marriage because I’m “disrespectful to them, their son, their church and their religion”.

I’ll be honest, I have very little knowledge of the inner workings of Catholicism aside from what I’ve googled and I’m at a loss over why there has been such a strong reaction. We changed a few things in my culture’s wedding ceremony for my husband so that he is comfortable and that was completely fine with my tribal leaders. I used this example of me accommodating my partner during my...

AITA for ignoring a crying girl on the plane?

So I had a nonstop flight yesterday from LA to DC, a little under five hours total. I was sitting in the middle seat in a row on the right side of the plane, and the girl in the window seat was wearing all black and was clearly either going directly to or from a funeral. She looked like she was maybe 12 or 13. I don't know why she was traveling alone, I didn't ask.

She was crying quietly the entire flight. She wasn't being loud or anything, but it was still very distracting and stressful. She tried to engage me in conversation several times when I glanced at her but I pretended I was absorbed in playing a game on my phone and that I didn't hear her. I'm not good at situations like this and I thought I might make things worse if I said something wrong. About halfway through the flight, I put in headphones and listened to music on my phone because it was stressing me out too much. Someone in one of the other rows must have flagged over a flight attendant at some point, because one of them came over to talk to her a little later, and she seemed like she was doing a little better after that, even though she was still crying.

I told my girlfriend about it when she picked me up from the airport, and she acted like I was the biggest jerk in the world. She said this was probably the worst day of that girl's life and I should have at least...

AITAH - My Ex-GF told me my current GF sabotaged our relationship?

I (28M) am really confused about the events of the last month. My ex-GF Julie (29F) thinks that my current GF Mindy (28F) is manipulative and sabotaged our 4 year relationship.

I was in a loving relationship with Julie for the last 4 years. We met through some mutual friends. Julie and I were very compatible in terms of our love for outdoor activities and running. We have very similar lifestyles and supported each other well for the last 4 years. We have also been living together for the last three years. We even discussed getting married during the summer. Everything was great and I was planning to propose to her over the holidays.

However, I started to see changes in behavior in Julie around September. She was acting distant and looked stressed. It was quite noticeable and I was worried. I trust her with all my heart and I could not imagine she would be cheating on me. However, she did spend more time by herself.

Around the same time, Julie's friend Mindy messaged me privately and asked me if I could meet her secretly, as she wanted to tell me something about Julie. Mindy and Julie work together and I have known Mindy ever since I started dating Julie. I was surprised, but to be honest, I assumed the worst. I met her at a cafe after work. She asked me if things were going ok between Julie and me. She told me that Julie told her that she was planning to leave me soon. This was a total shock to me. I...

- Movies & TV update: News, Reviews and Trending

I'm currently six months pregnant with mine (27F) and my husband's (30M) first child. We decided that we would find out the s__ of the baby, but keep it to ourselves until after the baby is born. We also told our families that we would prefer to keep baby pictures and all the baby's information (middle name, height and weight, etc.

that's sometimes posted when somebody has a child) off of social media. We understand there will be group pictures the baby will be in, which we said we would allow as long as there aren't an excessive amount of pictures posted with our child in them. My husband's family was completely understanding and told us they would even show us pictures before posting them.

My family however was the complete opposite. This is my dad and step mother's third grandchild and they didn't understand why we wouldn't tell them the s__ of the baby and felt like they deserved to know what it is before the baby is born. They also said they will post whatever pictures they want to because it's 'just social media, what's the big deal?' My parents are addicted to social media and post constantly, sometimes a little too much information that makes me uncomfortable.

We ended up getting into an argument and before I left I told them it's my baby, my choice so if they don't like my rules then they won't see their grandchild. My siblings started texting me and telling me that I'm overreacting and it's not a big deal for them to post pictures and...

AITA For telling my mom that my uncle deserved what he got

I 21 F have an uncle who is in his early 40s, he is married and has two beautiful baby girls with his wife, but he is never faithful to her. When I was still I'm high school he got one of my schoolmates pregnant and she had a daughter by him and he also has a few children with some other women in the community, all were born as a result of his infidelity he has had like plus or minus 5 children with different women in the 5 years he has been married to his wife not including the kids he had with his wife. The girl from my high school whom he had a daughter with decided that she was tired of him not acknowledging his daughter and being absent, she decided to go to his house and drop of the daughter with a couple of clothes and told him to take care of his daughter. Now my family is speaking ill of her and saying she is a bad mother, and I told my mom that he deserved what he got and he can't go around making babies with everyone in the community and thinks he can get away with it.

So AITA fit saying that.

AITA for making my daughter shower in PE?

Throwaway account for personal reasons.

I (F45) have a 14-year-old daughter, who I'll call Mikaela. Mikaela has barely hit puberty and is less developed than the majority of her peers, which I believe is something she is self-conscious about.

Last week, my husband and I received an email from Mikaela's school saying that because it was approaching the summer, it would now be mandatory for all students to shower after PE. I understand the logic; Mikaela does PE before lunch and if she doesn't shower, she'll be sweaty for the rest of the day, which I don't believe is hygienic. The school requested that we pack a towel and any shower gel for the next PE lessons to ensure the students were ready.

When I mentioned this to Mikaela, she said she would refuse to shower. Since the showers are communal, she told me she did not want to be n__ed in front of everyone else and would just get dressed. I told her she couldn't do this as the school were enforcing it, plus I felt it was healthy for her to shower. Again, she asked me to email the school to say she wouldn't be participating, but I refused to do so.

On Friday, despite many protests, I managed to make Mikaela go to school with her towel/shower stuff packed. I felt like I was doing the right thing. However, when Mikaela got home, she'd been crying all day saying how she'd had to get n__ed in front of everyone to shower and she'd never been so embarrassed because she saw one...

WIBTA if I refuse to clean up the kitchen after my stepdad and wash his dishes in exchange for not paying any rent?

I work full time, am a single father to my 5 Y/O son, take him and pick him up from school every day, regularly clean up most areas of the house including a hoarders situation in the garage that I spend a full 8 hours in the arizona summer heat sorting through, trashing and re organizing whatever was in there to make space for access to the washer/dryer and get in/out of the garage amd many other things. I moved in with my step-dad about 2 months ago since my son was starting school this year to make it a bit easier on me and also to save money that I was otherwise wasting on the ridiculous rent gouging thats happening out here. He didn't say anything about any trade offs before I moved in he just offered me to come live with him. There was no,, "you won't have to pay rent if you do x,y,z". But I've noticed (and this has been his MO since I was in grade school) that he uses every single dish, pot, pan, cup, etc in the house within 2 or 3 days of them all being clean to cook for himself and eat off of. He then leaves whatever is left on it puts it in the sink with residual food and chunks of s__t still left on it and walks away. This repeats up to 5-6-7 times a day until theres literally no dish left to eat off of or pan to cook with and he will leave it there for weeks. I let those dishes sit for a...

AITA For telling my friend I don’t want to plan her wedding if I’m not in the wedding party?

My friend and I have been really close friends for about eight years now and even were considered best friends in high school. Having graduated and become adults now, we have lost a bit of that friendship but we always pick up where we left off when we do see each other. We’ve done a lot for each other and have overall very similar tastes and so on.
Fast forward to now, my friend shares the news with me that she is engaged. I’m so excited for her and I’m really happy for her future with this man. She tells me she wants my help with her wedding planning and that she finds we have very similar tastes. She says she wants me to do this as I have an eye for this type of thing and that I’m very creative. Later on however she says that she would love to have me as a bridesmaid but doesn’t have the space for me to be in the actual wedding party. Honestly this really hurt my feelings and I expressed this to her as I thought I would be a bridesmaid. She tells me she would try to make room for me but I could still be part of the wedding party by helping coordinate, greet people, handing out favors, or something of the sort. I found this to be a bit insulting and told her I would think about it. This role was something I did for my cousins weddings when I was a child like handing out bubbles. She said she wants help picking out the bridesmaids...
