What the Nepal Tragedy Can Teach Us

The recent tragedy in Nepal reminds us of a sobering reality: life can change in a moment.

People can go to sleep expecting an ordinary day, making plans for tomorrow, spending time with family, working and living their normal lives. Then suddenly, without warning, everything can change.

This should not lead us to fear, but it should cause us to reflect.

We are not promised tomorrow. We do not control every circumstance in our lives. But there is One who remains faithful and unchanging—God.

The Bible says:

“Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” — Psalm 90:12

The question is not only, “How long will I live?” The more important question is, “Am I living in a relationship with God?”

Nepal's tragedy reminds us that we should not keep putting off the things that matter most. We plan for our careers, our finances, our families and our future, but we must also prepare our hearts and draw near to God.

Jesus invites us to come to Him—not because we are perfect, but because we need Him.

Today is an opportunity to:

- Pray.
- Turn to God.
- Strengthen your relationship with Jesus.
- Forgive others.
- Love your family.
- Live with purpose.
- Help those who are suffering.
- Make your peace with God.

We cannot control tomorrow, but we can choose what we do with today.

Let the tragedy in Nepal remind us that life is precious, time is valuable, and our relationship with God should never be taken for granted.

A Question for Reflection:

If life changed suddenly, would you be ready spiritually?

A Prayer:

Lord, help me not to take life for granted. Teach me to number my days and live wisely. Draw me closer to You, help me to love others deeply, and prepare my heart for whatever tomorrow may bring. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Who did I spend my birthday with? My ISCF family! ❤️

Where? At Moorlands Campsite in Manchester, serving, fellowshipping, laughing, worshipping, and making beautiful memories at ISCF Discipleship Camp.

I couldn’t have asked for a more meaningful way to celebrate another year of life. Instead of a traditional birthday celebration, I chose to spend my special day surrounded by young people, ministry, purpose, and people who are part of a work that is bigger than me.

45 years of God’s faithfulness! 🙏🏽

I am grateful for life, for purpose, for ministry, for family, and for the privilege of pouring into the next generation.

Here’s to 45 years of grace, growth, service and flourishing! 💗
