The girls from one of our partner schools- Khaunga Primary and JSS (in blue)- finished second in the just concluded KSSSA/KPSSA ball games in Kenya and are currently representing Kenya in the East African games in Morogoro, Tanzania.

In their opening match, the girls fought through five sets to win 3-2 against hosts Bomani.

To our girls, we are so proud of you! Keep raising the Kenyan flag even higher.

FIFA just selected Kenyan referee Josephine Wanjiku to officiate at the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup in Morocco, slated for October 17, 2026.

This selection is not just a milestone for Kenyan football officiating within the global arena but also a major boost in solidifying sports and talent as a career pathway.

Congratulations Josephine!

Tournaments have a way of unifying the community - bringing us all together to cheer for our children as they showcase their talent.

This year's December tournament will pick up from last year's, allowing more teams, more spectators and even more energy.

'Every successful team communicates. Calling for the ball, encouraging teammates and resolving conflicts are all communication skills that readily transfer to school and life'.

Last week, Africa commemorated the Day of the African Child under the theme: "Ensuring Universal Access to Water, Sanitation and Hygiene for Every Child in Africa."

The theme serves as an important reminder that every child deserves the basic conditions necessary to grow, learn, and thrive. Access to clean water, safe sanitation, and proper hygiene is fundamental to children's health, dignity, education, and participation in everyday life.

As schools across Kenya continue to compete in the Primary and Secondary School Ball Games, we have been proud to support teams in Kakamega and Nairobi with sports kits to help them participate with confidence and pride.

While quality sports equipment alone cannot address the challenges highlighted by this year's theme, we believe that every child deserves an environment where they can learn, play, develop their talents, and pursue their dreams without unnecessary barriers. Healthy children, supported in and out of the classroom, are better positioned to succeed both on and off the field.

As we reflect on the Day of the African Child, we reaffirm our commitment to creating opportunities for young people through sport while advocating for a future where every child has access to the services and support they need to reach their full potential.

A girl’s period should never be a reason for her to sit out, stay silent, or leave sports altogether.

This World Menstrual Hygiene Day, we are calling for sports spaces that are safer, more informed, and more inclusive for girls.

Destigmatizing menstruation in sports starts with open conversations, supportive coaches, access to menstrual hygiene products, and environments where girls can participate confidently every day of the month.

Because inclusion in sports is not just about giving girls a chance to play - it is about removing the barriers that stop them from staying.

The success of the FIFA Women’s Series in Kenya was more than just a tournament - it was a statement.

A statement that women’s football deserves the stage. That Kenya can host at a global level. And that young girls can finally see what’s possible.

If we want this moment to matter, we need real investment in grassroots football, stronger support systems, and long-term commitment from all stakeholders.

Momentum fades. What we build next is what counts.

Here's to each of us doing our part for sustained growth.

While women's sports in Kenya are growing, making up 45% of the Kenyan team at the Summer Olympics in France in 2024, actual local participation remains low within our counties.

The journey to equality in Kenyan sports has begun, but the pace is slow as barriers still persist.

Cultural stereotypes and limited funding should not be allowed to dictate a girl's potential.
