With everything happening to young women across Saint Lucia, our hearts are heavy — but our mission remains unshaken. Today, some of our girls and mentors held up their painted bouquets as a declaration: We will not let fear steal our joy.
Each flower represents resilience. Each smile represents courage. Each girl represents a future worth fighting for.
In these troubling times, we offer a bouquet of smiles, a gentle reminder that beauty still grows, healing still happens, and together we can create safer spaces for every daughter of this nation.

A NEW SCHOOL YEAR. A FRESH START.
Walking into a new school, a new classroom or even returning to familiar surroundings can bring excitement, nerves and uncertainty.
But remember: you do not have to have everything figured out on Day One.
Give yourself time to adjust. Meet new people. Ask questions. Learn your surroundings. Be open to new experiences and don't be afraid to step outside your comfort zone.
This school year is another chapter in your story — and you get to decide what you make of it.
Walk in with confidence. Walk in with purpose. And most importantly, walk in as yourself.

You Don't Have to Have Your Career Figured Out at 16
At 16, one of the biggest questions you may hear is: “What do you want to be?” But you don't need to have your entire future figured out just yet.
That was an important message for girls attending a career workshop hosted by Safe Space Consultancy Services at the Pastoral Centre on Saturday, August 22.
A diverse panel comprising a digital creator, teacher, farmer, nurse and finance compliance officer shared their experiences and offered practical advice, exposing the girls to the many different directions a career can take.
Choosing a career starts with discovering who you are, what interests you, what you're good at and the kind of future you want to build. Ask questions, speak with professionals, research different fields and take opportunities to develop new skills.
Don't limit yourself because a career seems difficult, unconventional or traditionally dominated by men. And remember, your first career choice does not have to be your final one. People grow, industries change and new opportunities emerge.
For now, focus on building a strong foundation: take your education seriously, develop useful skills, seek mentors and remain open to opportunities.
At 16, you don't need to know exactly where you will end up. You just need to start discovering what is possible and believe that you belong among those possibilities.

NOT EVERYTHING YOUR FRIENDS DO IS FOR YOU.
Peer pressure doesn't always sound like, "Come on, everybody's doing it."
Sometimes it's the fear of being laughed at. The fear of being left out.
The pressure to dress, speak, behave or make choices you normally wouldn't just so you can fit in.
This school year, remember that belonging should never require you to betray your values. Real friends will respect your boundaries.
Learn to say NO without feeling guilty. Choose your circle carefully. And never allow the desire to be accepted to push you towards decisions that can affect your future.
Fitting in is temporary. Knowing who you are will take you much further.
