Last week Shared Spaces had the opportunity to engage the Babonneau Secondary School Peer Helpers in an open and meaningful conversation surrounding stress, healthy vs. unhealthy coping mechanisms, and the importance of changing the language we use around mental health.
These conversations matter. Equipping our youth with mental health education and awareness helps them better understand themselves, support one another, and challenge the stigma that still exists within our communities. By creating safe spaces for dialogue, we empower young people to express themselves, practice healthy coping, and foster resilience.
Together, we continue working toward a future where mental health is understood, prioritized, and spoken about with empathy and care. π§βπ§βπ§π

Shared Spaces was pleased to facilitate a wellness session with the CAMDU Unit of the Ministry of Education, where key highlights included managing stress, avoiding burnout, and prioritizing mental wellness in the workplace. This conversation comes at a particularly important time amid the growing discussions and rising cases of burnout affecting professionals across various sectors.
Shared Spaces is happy to continue engaging in these meaningful conversations and creating supportive spaces that encourage balance, resilience, and well-being within our communities.

Last weekend, Shared Spaces hosted Check In, Not Out, a mental wellness workshop for the youth of Marigot and surrounding communities.
Led by Psychiatrist, Dr. Julius Gilliard, the session focused on emotional awareness, healthy coping tools, and building healthier digital habits.
Thank you to all participants for showing up and creating such a supportive space. We look forward to hosting more workshops that continue to inspire hope and strengthen resilience within our communities. ππ»π
