The Government of St. Lucia is signalling further investment in Saint Lucia’s creative industries as it seeks to position the sector as a stronger contributor to economic growth, employment and entrepreneurship. At the launch of the Creative Economy Grant Fund, Creative Industries Minister Dr. Ernest Hilaire outlined plans to expand support beyond direct grants, including the establishment of a dedicated fashion production facility and recording labs and studios across the island for musical artists. As content creation and influencing become increasingly attractive income opportunities for young people, one Saint Lucian creator is challenging the idea that success in the digital space can simply be taught. Content creator Rochella Emmanuel says that while technical skills are important, building a sustainable career online requires much more, as creators navigate the demands of audience building, personal branding, entrepreneurship and an increasingly competitive digital landscape.

Saint Lucia is moving to strengthen the reliability of its water supply with a major $22.8 million investment in critical infrastructure connected to the John Compton Dam. The Raw Water Pipeline Replacement Project, officially launched earlier today as the country’s Ninth Water Project, will replace a key component responsible for transporting raw water from the dam. Officials say the investment forms part of broader efforts to modernise the national water system, improve resilience and strengthen long-term water security. Kishana Smith reports
