Life is full of choices and regrets. Islam teaches a beautiful way to handle it. Allah, in His infinite mercy, gave us the blessing of tawakkal — a reminder to rely on Him alone. But the concept also tells us to “tie the camel” as in “do your part” and leave the rest up to God.
Islam also teaches us God chooses for us better than we would choose for ourselves and not to indulge in “what-if scenarios”. Sinking in a pool of self-pity isn’t helpful in any way.
A mother will always choose what’s best for her child. God loves us 70 times more than a mother and we lack the intellect to comprehend His divine choices for us.
What you perceive as regret may actually be a mercy compared to the hardships that awaited you on the alternate path.
Trust that your unique journey, even with its regrets, is still the best one for you.
But you don’t have to give up and lead a life of misery. Change is always beautiful and you’re given the choice to make that happen. Do it intentionally and do it with faith. 💕

Breakups often come with a flood of advice.
Friends, relatives and even strangers may feel the need to explain what you should do next but healing is a deeply personal journey.
Creating distance, protecting your mental health and allowing yourself time to rebuild are often more helpful than outside opinions.
Sometimes the most important thing you can do after heartbreak is simply listen to yourself.

Art has saved us more often than we realise.
I turn to poetry only in two instances:
One when an emotion too strong gets hold of me.
The other when I wish to pour but also conceal.

Not all women dream of a career. Some want to choose a simple life and be there for their family.
But life has different plans for everyone. Some women are forced to take up jobs, turn a hobby into an income, or tackle finances just to keep the children fed, bills paid and family running smoothly.
She is forced into the role of both the provider and caregiver, walking in two pairs of shoes at once.
Society doesn’t stop even once to ask if this is what she wanted. Instead, it’s quick to judge and label her as disobedient, dominant and what-not just because she realised what the husband gives for family expenses doesn’t match the economic reality. She is blamed for not living beneath her means when the truth is she never tried to earn for herself but for her family’s needs.
Look around. Ask the right questions. Don’t judge without knowing the full story.
Not all women have a support system. Sometimes, she’s the whole system everyone leans on.

A few gentle truths you don’t want to hear!
Who am I to tell you what you should or shouldn’t be doing on Valentine’s Day?
But if I’m your friend, your sister or a well-wisher and I see you getting disappointed, feeling sad or spending your money only to regret it the next day, then I might say these to you.
Yet, no matter what, cheers to love that doesn’t wait for February ❤️

Today, on a whim, I packed my notebooks and headed to the .lk to overcome my creative block.
This trick always works for me:
1. Open a new page/document
2. Write a chapter — halfway or fully
3. Rewrite a better version on the final document
Sometimes, all you need is a fresh take to let the creativity flow. ✨ And being surrounded by books help a lot 😃

Change is the only constant. I feel like I’m entering version 3.0 now 😄
As perspectives shift in my mind, the decisions I make and the actions that align are naturally going to follow. I hope this new direction takes me somewhere good. And with that, what I write and share is also likely to change. I hope you find value in them too.
Do you feel these sort of shifts within you too?
