Shan has never forgotten his roots. From the moment he walked through the gates of Trinity, there was one person who saw his potential before many others did. Mr Sanoj More than just a coach, he became a mentor, a guide, and the pillar who stood beside him after his parents.

Sanoj was his football coach from under 12 to 1st XI. He was the one who gave the opportunity to Shan to play for the 1st XI Football team when he was 15. That exposure gave him the courage to play in the 1st XV when he was 16.
