Genetic Fallacy is a Heavy Metal Band hailing from the Western coasts of Sri Lanka. The band was formed during March 2019 by Guitarist Sachith Fernando who was wishing to form a band since 2016. Sachith Fernando recruited vocalist Jeric Emmanuel, Lead guitarist Lakshika Seneviratne, former bassist Dushan Shavith and former drummer Ramila Gunathilake. The band was named 'Genetic Fallacy' by Jeric Emmanuel - thus beginning their Heavy Metal career under that name.

Seeing the local Metal industry booming at a quick pace, the band was able to hurl in to the local Metal Festivals. The Band’s first Metal performance was staged just two weeks after the band was formed, where the group stormed in to a Concert that was hosted by an Art Association in their hometown in Negombo. Fifty headbangers all across the country showed up to support the newly formed band on that day. Upon their inception the band was invited to perform in six local Music Festivals in the year 2019.

Genetic Fallacy aspires to create music blending two major extreme sub-genres namely, Groove Metal and Melodic Death Metal alongside the local Thovil music (Sri Lanka’s Legendary Music used for Ritual Chanting and Exorcisms). The band is influenced by many International Metal Bands such as Amon Amarth, Lamb of God, Psychonaut 4, Pantera, Be'lakor etc. And their songs are composed in either Sinhalese or English. The Group focuses to reach out internationally in company with their Sinhalese roots, traditions and culture.
