ā€œWhen passion meets povertyā€

Entrepreneur Life In Liberia šŸ¤¦šŸ¾

17/08/2026

The Ministry of Youth and Sports Liberia

I submitted my youth business grant application on August 14.
I was told at the office that you already have the number of applicants you need so they were no longer accepting forms.

My concern:
The official deadline on the form was August 15, 2026. Why were applications closed early?
If the number was already met, how sure are you that all of them meet the criteria, especially sales records? Many small businesses like mine don’t have perfect records yet we are real.
I missed time due to illness and internet issues, but I still showed up before deadline with all documents.

I’m not asking for pity. I’m asking for fairness and transparency.
Young entrepreneurs in Montserrado deserve a process we can trust.

Please clarify if late submissions before Aug 15 will be considered, or if there will be another round.

THE DAYS WHEN YOU FEEL LIKE GIVING UP...

Are the days when you’re actually closest to your breakthrough.

As entrepreneurs, we’ve all been there. The endless nights, the self-doubt, the what-ifs. It’s tough, but it’s worth it. Every no brings you closer to a yes. Every struggle is shaping you into the person you need to be to achieve your dreams.

When the grind gets real and you feel like throwing in the towel, remember WHY YOU STARTED. It wasn’t for the glamour or the ease; it was for the challenge. It was for the opportunity to create something from nothing, to leave a mark, to change lives.

You’re building more than a business—you’re building resilience, grit, and a legacy. The road is hard, but the view at the top? Worth it.

So keep pushing, keep grinding, and trust the process. Your breakthrough is on the other side of perseverance.

You got this.

When the grind gets tough, the tough get going.

I know we've all been there - days when you question everything, when the weight of your dreams feels like it's crushing you. But let me tell you, those moments are exactly when you're closest to breakthrough.

As entrepreneurs, we're not just building businesses; we're building ourselves. We're learning to push past fear, to rise above doubt, and to keep going even when it feels like giving up is the easier option.

You are not alone in this struggle. Every successful entrepreneur has faced their own battles, their own dark nights of the soul. But they didn't give up. They kept pushing, kept grinding, and eventually, they made it happen.

So tomorrow, when the alarm goes off and you don't want to get out of bed, remember why you started. Remember the fire that drives you, the passion that fuels you, and the vision that calls you forward.

You got this. You've got the talent, the drive, and the resilience to crush your goals. Don't let doubt win. Don't let fear hold you back. Take a deep breath, put on your big-kid pants, and step into your greatness.

The world needs what you have to offer. Let's make it happen, fam.
