New Year Message from the Office of the Chairman of the Democratic Alternative (DA)

Fellow Liberians, Esteemed Members, and Cherished Well-Wishers,

As 2025 draws to a close and we step into the dawn of 2026, I extend warm greetings and heartfelt appreciation to each of you. This past year has been one of challenges and triumphs, of lessons learned and hopes renewed. Through it all, your resilience, courage, and unwavering belief in the promise of Liberia have been our greatest strength.

The Democratic Alternative (DA) was born out of a conviction that Liberia deserves better—better governance, better opportunities, and a better future for every citizen. As we enter 2026, we reaffirm our commitment to stand as a beacon of hope, a voice for the voiceless, and a movement dedicated to justice, transparency, and progress.

This new year must be a year of unity and renewal. We must rise above division and embrace solidarity. We must reject despair and embrace hope. Together, we can build a Liberia where every child has access to education, every family enjoys dignity, and every community thrives in peace and prosperity.

To our members: remain steadfast in discipline and dedication. To our well-wishers: continue to walk with us in faith and encouragement. To all Liberians: know that the Democratic Alternative is your partner in progress, your ally in the struggle, and your companion in the journey toward a brighter tomorrow.

As we welcome 2026, let us commit ourselves to the hard work of nation-building. Let us labor with love, walk with courage, and dream with conviction. The road ahead may be long, but together, we will prevail.

Happy New Year, Liberia. Happy New Year, Democratic Alternative. The future is ours to shape.

With respect and resolve,
Hon. Alfred P. K. Cassell

Democratic Alternative Ideology:

The Democratic Alternative Movement (DA) envisions a governance model rooted in federalism, where national and local administrations share responsibilities to ensure effective governance. The DA is built on values such as loyalty, respect, selflessness, integrity, and courage. It strives to create a society where everyone, regardless of their background, has equal opportunities to succeed.

The DA emphasizes sustainable development, ensuring economic growth aligns with environmental preservation. It advocates for transparent governance, holding itself accountable to the communities it serves. By promoting education and embracing technology, the DA aims to prepare Liberia for a future that balances tradition with progress.

The DA also champions inclusivity, ensuring that women, youth, persons with disabilities, and marginalized communities are actively involved in national development. It seeks to address Liberia's unique challenges, such as post-war recovery, youth unemployment, and rural marginalization, while fostering innovation tailored to local needs, like digital education and e-health solutions.

With a commitment to social populism, the DA prioritizes the interests of the common people over elites, aiming to eradicate poverty and inequality. It upholds nationalism, putting the country and its citizens first, and values Liberia's cultural heritage while embracing new ideas for progress. The DA envisions a future where integrity, inclusiveness, and innovation drive sustainable development and social justice for all Liberians.

We envision a better Liberia—beginning right here in Electoral District #4, Grand Bassa County. It is time for the Bassa Legislative Caucus to rise to the moment and take decisive action. You were elected to collaborate with the Executive Branch for challenges just like this.

The promises made to the people must be honored. Our citizens deserve a well-constructed, dependable road—one that addresses a problem persisting since 1847. We can no longer accept temporary fixes to a permanent issue.

The Ministry of Public Works requires stronger oversight, and that responsibility must no longer be ignored. Hon. Alfred Flomo, the call is clear: this is your moment to lead. Be the champion District #4 needs.
