We are looking for exceptional young athletes in Basketball, Football, and Kickball who have the talent, discipline, and commitment to earn an educational opportunity through GASP.

This Justification Session is the first stage of the selection process.

Athletes will first demonstrate their abilities before the selection process moves to the application stage.

Selected athletes will be called up after the Justification Session and given the official GFCA Student Athlete Scholarship Application Form to complete.

Scholarships start at 25% tuition assistance, with opportunities for higher levels based on athletic performance, academics, conduct, and commitment.

For Elaine G. Kennedy, it was an entire journey.

When the 2025/2026 academic year began, Elaine entered Gertrude Faith Christian Academy as a Nursery student, one of the youngest learners in our classrooms. Like every child, she began with curiosity, excitement, and a willingness to learn. What nobody knew at the time was that she was about to embark on one of the most remarkable academic journeys in the history of our young institution.

As the year unfolded, Elaine quickly separated herself through her dedication, consistency, and love for learning. Her historic 99.9% average during the Second Period examinations announced her arrival. It was a result that captured the attention of students, teachers, and parents across the academy.

Then came another milestone.

At the end of the First Semester, Elaine once again achieved an incredible 99.9% average, earning her a well-deserved double promotion from Nursery to KG-1. For many students, moving into a new class midway through the year would mean adjusting to a new environment, new expectations, and a more demanding academic workload.

For Elaine, it became another opportunity to grow.

Rather than slowing down, she embraced the challenge. Surrounded by students who had already spent months at the KG-1 level, Elaine stepped into unfamiliar territory and continued to excel. She adapted quickly, worked diligently, and proved that her earlier achievements were not the result of circumstance, but the product of genuine ability and determination.

By the end of the academic year, she had accomplished something truly special.

Not only did she succeed in her new class, she finished with a record-breaking final average of 97.3%, earning the title of Overall Dux of Gertrude Faith Christian Academy for the 2025/2026 Academic Year.

🥇 Justice C. Davis (Grade 9) – 92.2%

From the very first rankings to the final academic year standings, Justice became the definition of consistency. While others battled for positions, she remained among the academic elite throughout the year. Today, she finishes as the highest-performing student in the Junior & Senior High Division, a reward for months of discipline, focus, and excellence.

🥈 Abednego V. Swen (Grade 9) – 91.6%

Abednego’s journey is one of persistence. As the year progressed, his name became impossible to ignore. Through hard work and determination, he established himself as one of the strongest academic performers in the school and earned a well-deserved place among the year’s finest scholars.

🥈 Ibrahim M. Sirleaf (Grade 9) – 91.6%

If consistency had a challenger, it would be Ibrahim. From leading semester rankings to finishing among the Academic Year Top 5, he repeatedly demonstrated what dedication looks like. His performance throughout the year made him one of the most respected academic competitors on campus.

🏅 Nathaniel Wheon Jr. (Grade 8)– 91.1%

Nathaniel’s story is one of early excellence and continued growth. Long before his first semester’s promotion to Grade 8, he was already making headlines in the rankings. He spent the year proving that excellence has no age limit and that determination speaks louder than grade level.

🏅 Mohammed Jabbateh (Grade 8)– 91.0%

One of the students who helped set the academic tone for the year. Before his first semester’s promotion Mohammed’s name appeared among the top performers from the early stages of the school year and remained a symbol of hard work, commitment, and academic ambition.
