A very positive and constructive pre-Budget meeting with Prime Minister Robert Abela and Government.
For the Malta Development Association, these meetings are not simply about highlighting challenges. Our responsibility is also to put forward practical and workable solutions.
One important example is the policy for solar panels in industrial areas, a proposal which the MDA has been advocating for over the past years. We are pleased that Government has now approved the policy and that INDIS is moving forward with identifying suitable sites and preparing the next stage for implementation.
Government received the MDA’s feedback and proposals very positively. We discussed planning reform, construction, sustainability, investment and reducing unnecessary bureaucracy.
We also raised wider challenges facing the country which go beyond our industry but directly affect the quality of life of our people and Malta’s long-term competitiveness.
The MDA will continue to be proactive, constructive and focused on solutions that strengthen both our economy and our country.
