Access to information is a fundamental right and a cornerstone of transparency, accountability and good governance.
At Transparency Mauritius, we believe that every citizen should have meaningful access to information about public decisions, public funds and the functioning of public institutions.
Building a more transparent society means strengthening access to information, encouraging proactive disclosure and empowering citizens to participate and hold institutions accountable.
Transparency is not a privilege — it is a right.

Today, on African Anti-Corruption Day, Transparency Mauritius joins the continent in marking this year's theme, “Scaling Up the Promotion of Integrity and Anti-Corruption Actions Across Africa”. Corruption is not a victimless issue : it strips away at the democratic systems of a nation, funnels money away from public funds, and silences those who speak out against it. This is why robust whistleblower protection and transparent codes of conduct for public officials remain central to our advocacy in Mauritius. We call on the government to accelerate action on creating the accountable institutions our democracy and people deserve.
