crazy to think we can discern the weather before discerning we literally living in the last hours 😭🧍🏽♀️

You were created for the depths of God 🙇🏽♀️
I remember genuinely not knowing how I was ever going to get sober. I knew the Lord was calling me out of it, but I had no idea how I was supposed to let it go.
W**d had become such a normal part of my life, and the way the Lord delivered me from it is something I’ll never forget. I remember nights where I would stay up crying, asking God to just keep me and get me through the storm because I knew I couldn’t keep living the way I was living, but I also didn’t know how to stop.
From w**d to acid to shrooms, I was looking for love, peace and escape in all the wrong places. I was trying to fill something in me that only Jesus could ever fill.
Even after I met Him, though, surrender didn’t happen overnight. It took time. There was a lot of wrestling, a lot of tears and a lot of moments where I knew what the Lord was asking me to leave behind, but I still struggled to let it go.
Now I sit here four years later, 1,461 days sober, and I’m honestly just in awe of everything the Lord has done. Sometimes I think back to the version of me who was crying and wondering how she was ever going to get free, and I wish I could tell her that Jesus was going to keep her through all of it.
I didn’t get here because I was strong enough or because I finally had enough willpower. It was the grace of God, His patience with me, His mercy toward me and His power to completely change a life.
By His grace and His grace alone, four years sober. All glory to Jesus. 🤍

Don’t fall for the set up. You are called to be the light!
A little snippet of the intentionality of the Lord.
The same friend who introduced me to w**d, something that eventually became an addiction, was also the friend who introduced me to Jesus.
That alone reminds me how powerfully God can redeem a story.
You can never outrun the love of God, and you are never too far gone. Nothing is impossible with Him. There were parts of my life that made absolutely no sense while I was living through them, but looking back, I can see His hand all over it.
I’ve also had seasons where I was living lukewarm, living a double life, and yet somehow the Lord still used seeds that were planted and even seeds I shared with others. Some of those people are walking with Jesus today.
That’s the power of the gospel. It was never about me being perfect enough to make God’s Word effective. His Word has power. He can use broken people, messy seasons, unlikely relationships, and things we don’t understand yet and still bring something beautiful out of them.
So maybe you’re in a season right now that doesn’t make sense.
What if the storm isn’t only something you’re meant to survive, but something God can use to reveal the peace that can only be found in Him? What if it’s showing you the authority you have in Him, the dependence you were made for, or a side of His character you wouldn’t have known otherwise?
Storms come for the believer and unbeliever alike, but in Christ, even the storm can have purpose.
“What I am doing, you do not realize right now, but you will understand later.” John 13:7
