By Aibuh News Connect | 03 October 2026 | Senanga

Senanga has bid farewell to Humphrey Mulope Mulope, the UPND District Deputy Information and Publicity Secretary, who has been laid to rest at the Senanga Town Council Cemetery.

The burial ceremony was preceded by a funeral service at Nzuli Congregation of the New Apostolic Church, conducted by Apostle Sabwiza Tufule.

Mulope had been a long-standing member of the UPND and remained committed to the party for many years without holding a formal position. Last year, he was voted into the position of District Deputy Information and Publicity Secretary, marking a new chapter in his service to the party.

The funeral brought together family members, political colleagues, friends and mourners from across Senanga to honour his life and service.

Among those in attendance were Senanga District UPND Chairperson Mr. Libakeni, Senanga Town Council Chairperson Mr. Michael Inambao Mwiya, Provincial Information and Publicity Secretary Mr. Lamaswala Mubiana, Provincial Youth Chairperson Mr. Jack Mwaanga, members of the District UPND Executive Committee and party members.

Speaking during the funeral, Provincial Information and Publicity Secretary Lamaswala Mubiana described Mulope as a hardworking, loyal and dedicated UPND member who served the party and community with commitment.

Mr. Mubiana assured the bereaved family that they would not be forgotten by the party, saying the party leadership had directed that members who sacrificed and suffered for the UPND should also benefit from the party.

Mulope was remembered as a dedicated servant, colleague and friend, with mourners reflecting on his contribution to the party and community of Senanga.

His final journey brought together those who knew and worked with him, offering a solemn farewell to a man remembered for his dedication and service.

May his soul rest in eternal peace.

The party imposed some candidates on us and we still campaigned for those people even when the structures didnt want them.

If you are to listen to us, as members of the party who are willing to even sacrifice our freedoms for the party, PLEASE DO NOT IMPOSE DISTRICT COMMISSIONERS ON US.

ALLOW THE STRUCTURES TO SELECT WHO THEY WANT AS THEIR DC.

THAT IS ALL I CAN ASK.

WHEN we had the adoptions, we campaigned for everyone even the people that we didnt agree with.

But the party should give the structures one thing this time, ALLOW US TO SELECT THE DISTRICT COMMISSIONER OF OUR CHOICE.

WE KNOW WHAT WE ARE TALKING ABOUT.

I THANK YOU.

GEORGE MTONGA ✍️

The clean up that we never did of government institutions in 2021 that still has PF cadres should be done.

And we should replace everyone with UPND members.

This is why we win power. Not to win power to leave the opposition in positions of power.

You as well as i know if they had won, because you are UPND, you would have been fired.

INSTANTLY.

SO ... clean up. And put our people thats why they fought for power.

Thats it.

We cant be campaigning for power only to leave people who opposed us in institutions of power.

This is a no!! Fyabupuba!!

DUNCAN LIYWALII CHALLENGES SENANGA TO HARNESS ITS ECONOMIC POTENTIAL UNDER GROW ZAMBIA AGENDA

By Aibuh News Connect | 1 October 2026 | Senanga

Director of Aibuh Media, Duncan Liywalii, has challenged Senanga District to transform its natural and human resources into production, jobs, businesses and investment under the Grow Zambia agenda.

Liywalii said Senanga must move beyond being a recipient of development programmes and become an active contributor to Zambia’s economic growth through local production, value addition, skills development and market access.

He identified agriculture, fisheries, aquaculture, livestock, timber, tourism and small businesses as key sectors capable of expanding Senanga’s economic base.

Among the opportunities he highlighted are fish processing and cold storage, cassava, rice, maize and groundnut processing, livestock value chains, sugar production in Senanga East, and wheat farming and milling in Senanga North.

He also called for sustainable use of timber resources through carpentry, furniture manufacturing and other wood-based enterprises, alongside stronger technical and vocational training in areas such as mechanics, welding, electrical installation, refrigeration, food processing, aquaculture, construction and ICT.

Liywalii stressed that skills must be matched with finance, technology, mentorship and reliable markets to enable young people and local entrepreneurs to create sustainable businesses.

He further proposed a Senanga Investment Prospectus to identify and promote bankable opportunities in agro-processing, manufacturing, logistics, and no Kik tourism, renewable energy and other priority sectors, while ensuring local communities participate in the economic value chain.

“Senanga must not only wait for development to arrive. It must organize l resources, produce, process, trade and create opportunities for its people.”

Liywalii said coordinated action involving Government, traditional leadership, the private sector, farmers, cooperatives, financial institutions, young people and communities could help position Senanga as an important agro-industrial and economic hub in Western Province.
