About the trending, sad Facebook narrative about the Ngwa Clan: my take.

Let's be honest and truthful about this situation, especially to all Igbos residing and doing business in Aba. This is a known insult, discrimination, degradation, and assassination of an entire clan's character. This discrimination, generalization, and hatred of an entire clan have been passed down from generation to generation. I still wonder why this generation continues with this ugly mentality.

From my personal experience, it started even in nursing school days, primary, and secondary school, down to higher institution and even now that I am an adult. Sometimes I wonder who told a nursery pupil all that. As an adult, I have witnessed people, even those who benefit directly from Onye Ngwa or gain from Onye Ngwa, those I consider friends and close associates, those whom I am even more educated than, more good-looking than, even taller than, highly endowed, and very intelligent than—I have experienced my clan (Ngwa) being insulted more often than I can count, very unapologetically. It's well; this is one more reason I don't support the Igbo Agenda most of the time. We are very mean to each other, especially to Nde Mbaisi, Ebonyi people, etc.

Sometimes they mostly say it without knowing I am from Ngwa, and when they find out, they usually use that ugly phrase that I hate so much: "Hmmm, you don't look like Onye Ngwa" or "Hmmm, you don't behave like Onye Ngwa ooo." I always interject by telling them that it's a bad recommendation; we Ngwa are good people, no matter their point of view or any personal experiences they may have had with one or more Ngwa people they have come across.

In the end, we all will still leave this world one day. To my fellow Ngwa who experience this abuse, everybody should be calm and stand up for themselves. Please, let's learn to respect each other's clans, let them enjoy their less privileged status, if that is even true, let them live with dignity, and allow them to amend in peace. Currently, Ngwa are married to all the nooks and corners of Igbo land, so what is there to hate about again?

The most unfortunate aspect of this situation: it's Igbos hating on fellow Igbos, not even on any other part of this country. Igbos make up 90% of the inhabitants of Aba. Let's do better; this hate will not take us anywhere but will continue to reduce the peaceful existence and love among Igbos.

We can do better as Igbos. Let's learn to create content, whether it be video, pictures, or write-ups, to promote peace, respect, and coexistence in our communities, Igbo land and beyond.

To my Ngwa people, it's time we start loving each other, creating opportunities for one another, stopping the indiscriminate sale of lands, eliminating envy, empowering each other, participating in politics, doing business, etc. The insults will gradually disappear or reduce.

Ngwas are peaceful, loving people, very educated and intelligent. We are not just a village but a clan with seven local governments, and Obingwa LGA as the largest LGA in Abia State, both in land mass and population so it unfair to judge Ngwa people base on individual experience. Many non-Ngwas are in many elected positions here in Ngwa land. Ngwas love and accommodate visitors, and Ngwa land is known to be a place that prospers for all, no matter where you are coming from.

I have friends, cousins, nieces, nephews and associates whom I respect and consider brothers and sisters outside the Ngwa Clan, and I will never see them as enemies or discriminate against them based on where they come from. They receive equal love and respect, just like my Ngwa brothers and sisters. That's what humanity should be.

Nde Igbo, especially parents, learn to teach your children and wards to respect people's clans and what they represent.

Why do Africans who have Mighty Jesus seek financial help from the people who are not Christians? Or it's their god who is more superior than Jesus? 🙄
