Today, 1st October, I celebrate another year of life with a heart full of gratitude to Almighty God for His grace, preservation, and the privilege to serve.

As I mark this birthday, I am reminded that true fulfilment is not measured only by the years we live, but by the impact we make, the lives we touch, and the institutions we help strengthen.

I also wish to express my deepest appreciation to His Excellency, my Boss and Mentor, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma , CON, for the confidence, leadership, guidance, and opportunity to serve our dear state. I remain grateful for the trust reposed in me and committed to contributing my very best to the development agenda of his administration.
I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the development of Imo State through my service at the Imo State Internal Revenue Service. Every milestone, challenge, and achievement has strengthened my resolve to keep pursuing excellence, innovation, accountability, and meaningful service.

My appreciation also goes to my family, colleagues, friends, associates, and everyone who has been part of my journey and continues to support me in one way or another.

As I begin another chapter, my prayer is simple: more wisdom, greater strength, sound judgment, and the grace to make an even greater impact in service to humanity.

The Executive Chairman of the Imo State Internal Revenue Service (IIRS), Mr. Justice Remijus Okoye, (FCA) has been honoured with an Appreciation Award at the 160th Meeting of the Joint Revenue Board (JRB) in Kaduna State.

The award recognises his distinguished contribution as a Discussant on “One Year of Tax Reforms: Assessing Progress and Addressing Challenges.”

The recognition highlights his leadership and commitment to advancing tax administration, compliance and sustainable revenue generation in Imo State.

Under his leadership, IIRS continues to drive innovative revenue reforms, strengthen stakeholder engagement and promote efficient and transparent tax administration.

Management and Staff of IIRS warmly congratulate the Executive Chairman on this well-deserved recognition.

**FROM ECONOMIC STABILITY TO SHARED PROSPERITY**

Nigeria’s economy is showing encouraging signs of recovery. Growth is projected to remain strong in 2026, while inflation has begun to moderate. Yet, the real measure of economic progress is not only found in statistics it is found in the lives of ordinary Nigerians.

The next phase must therefore be about turning economic reforms into tangible opportunities: stronger businesses, increased investment, more jobs, improved purchasing power and a revenue system that supports sustainable development.

For us as a people, the conversation must move beyond "Is the economy growing?" to “Are Nigerians feeling the impact of that growth?

This is where responsible leadership, innovation, technology driven revenue mobilization and strategic partnerships become critical.

A stronger economy is not simply one that grows it is one that creates value, expands opportunities and improves the quality of life of its people.

The journey continues. The focus must now be on inclusive growth and shared prosperity.

NACOFED 2026 was more than a gathering; it was a remarkable convergence of leaders, policymakers, technocrats, professionals and distinguished dignitaries from across Nigeria.

I am delighted to share some memorable moments captured with some of the distinguished personalities I had the privilege of meeting and interacting with during this landmark event.

Each conversation, handshake and photograph represents more than a moment it reflects the importance of building relationships, exchanging ideas and strengthening collaboration in the pursuit of better public finance and economic development.

I sincerely appreciate His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, CON, Executive Governor of Imo State, for the vision, hospitality and leadership that made it possible for Imo State to host such a remarkable and historic event the first of its kind in the South-East of Nigeria.

This was a powerful statement about what Imo State can achieve when vision meets leadership, and leadership meets purposeful ex*****on.

From Owerri to the rest of Nigeria, NACOFED 2026 has created memories, strengthened partnerships and opened new opportunities for collaboration.

Thank you, Your Excellency, for giving Imo State the platform to host Nigeria and for putting our dear State on the national stage.
