After a seven-year hiatus, I returned to my homeland, Nigeria, for a whirlwind adventure. My visit was packed with meaningful connections, heartfelt moments, and unforgettable experiences.

Amongst my goals were reconnecting with my siblings, visiting my grandmother on her 91st birthday, checking in with my Grandbrick's team, evaluating our projects, spending time with my in-laws, rekindling old friendships, exploring investment opportunities, indulging in authentic Naija cuisine, renewing my expired passport, and managing my bank cards.

Thankfully, I accomplished everything I set out to do, despite a few unexpected hitches.

One of the most serendipitous moments was bumping into my father-in-law at the same hotel in Abuja, even though we arrived on different days and airlines! We had breakfast together throughout his brief business trip, strengthening our bond and deepening our understanding of each other.

Another highlight was realizing just how "sweet" life can be in Nigeria if you have the means and connections. The ease of getting things done, the warmth of the people, and the diversity of experiences were truly remarkable.

My meeting with Olajide Abiola , the visionary leader and entrepreneur behind Gidanka, Infinite Acres, Kiakia, Jendo oil, and more, was particularly inspiring. His humility, passion for Nigeria's development, and commitment to excellence were infectious. I had the privilege of staying at one of his properties, The Destination, a luxurious hotel that rivals international standards in every aspect.

I also had the opportunity to connect with page, which introduced me to a variety of businesses and experiences that enriched my trip.

My brother In laws and cousin Jp were an invaluable companion, showing me around Abuja, treating me to authentic Nigerian cuisine, and ensuring I had a memorable time.

Abuja and Lagos exceeded my expectations, providing an abundance of joy, adventure, and cultural immersion. I can't wait to return soon to experience more of the magic of Nigeria.

Please don't be swayed by negative perceptions of Nigeria. My experiences proved that the country is full of opportunities and welcoming people. I even ventured into the Wuse and Utako markets alone, relying on Uber to navigate new areas. The level of security is not as dire as portrayed online.

As I settle into my seat for the long flight back to the United States, I'm filled with gratitude for the incredible journey I've just embarked on. May God bless Nigeria and its people. Cheers to Mama Africa!
