We Flip A Switch And Light Appears. But Have You Ever Looked At What Makes That Possible?

A continuation of my Energy Album.
This time, I’m studying the light bulb:
Its form, function, and the small details we often overlook.
Can you see the Type of lamp base?
B22 for Bayonet Cap
E27 for Edison Screw
E14 for Edison Screw
Can you see the AC/DC Circuit?

I’m not just drawing bulbs.
I’m studying how everyday objects work and turning that understanding into art. ⚡✏️

One sketch at a time, I’m bringing electricity to life.

Today, I’m leaning into a brand-new series of sketches, starting with something unexpected: plugs.

Why power plugs?
Because I’m currently deep into exploring ideas around energy, current, and raw innovation.
Every pencil stroke and canvas layer is a deliberate step toward a much larger vision I’m building behind the scenes.
Thank you for being on this journey with me as I find my rhythm again.
There is so much more art coming your way soon.

What do you think I’m trying to capture or build by exploring electricity and energy through my sketches?
Let me know in the comments.

We are live now

On April 9, 2026, I shared a vision.

Not just an art campaign or request for support, but the cry of a young Nigerian illustrator tired of limitation.

I wanted to join the Landmark Forum, grow, and create meaningful illustrations for books, magazines, games, supermarkets, and video productions worldwide.

But I struggled with inconsistent electricity, unstable internet, blackouts, interrupted deadlines, and broken creative momentum.

As an illustrator, it hurts when imagination is alive but environment shuts it down.

Still, I stepped forward in faith.

I launched my “Embraced” print campaign to raise funds for a 5G MTN broadband setup and solar installation to support my work and participation in the Landmark Forum.

The timeline was short, the goal big, but I believed.

Then Patricia donated $750 USD / ₦1,006,736.25 and confirmed artwork pickup later.

I was overwhelmed, not by money alone but by belief in my dream.

Everything changed.

On April 12, 2026, I purchased the MTN 5G router.

On April 16, 2026, Laobat Solar Engineers installed a 1KVA solar system.

For the first time in a long while, I worked without fear of blackout, unstable internet, or lost progress.

Now I bring ideas to life without delay or excuse.

Today I’m illustrating Patricia’s book with gratitude.

This proves God can do more than we imagine.

I thank Patricia and everyone who supported, shared, prayed, or believed.

If you missed the campaign, another opportunity will come.

Stay tuned, stay connected.

Hello Champion 🏆

I hope you’re doing well.

I’m reaching out to share a project I’m currently working on and to ask for your support. I am launching an art print campaign titled “Embraced,” where each piece will be sold at $70 USD (covering production, packaging, and worldwide shipping).

The goal of this campaign is to generate funds to support my participation in the Landmark Forum, which commences on April 17, 2026. In preparation for this, I plan to acquire a 5G MTN broadband WiFi setup and a 1.2 kWh solar installation.

Due to inconsistent power supply and internet connectivity challenges here in Nigeria, this setup is essential, not only to participate smoothly in the program, but also to work efficiently, meet deadlines, and scale my creative output.
My goal is to raise $723 USD through the sale of 35 art prints before the end of April, with the funds ideally secured before April 17 (installation targeted by April 13, 2026).

For anyone who may wish to send support, my details are available upon request.

While the timeline is short, I am stepping forward in faith and action, trusting that this vision can be achieved.
I would deeply appreciate your support and even sharing this with your network would mean a lot.

Yours faithfully,
Dare Timofe John

This is a drawing of my dear friend and partner, she means so much to me.
I dedicated a week to this, starting with a light emboss paper using H and B pencils for shading, then layering the hairstyle with charcoal and brush strokes to bring the clothing to life.
I love how it turned out, and I'm so proud of it!
Stay tuned, because I’ll be sharing some progress shots soon, so you can see how each layer came to life.
Stay tuned for that journey.

Reflecting on these realities,
I carefully developed this cartoon to show how many of us are already imagining 2026.
The truth is, we don’t control reality, but our perception shapes how we respond to it.

My message is simple:
let’s face the challenges of 2026 with clarity, responsibility, and the right actions.
