The tool you master today may not be the tool you use five years from now.
And that is not a reason to stop learning, It is a reason to learn differently.
Technology moves fast. Tools change, features change, and the way we work changes with them.
We have seen tasks that once required several Excel formulas become easier with Power Query.
We have seen dashboards change the way businesses look at reports, and now AI can write formulas, explain code, summarise documents and handle parts of work that people once spent hours doing manually.
So where does that leave you?Learn the tool, but don't build your entire value around the tool.
If you are learning Excel, understand data.
If you are learning Power BI, understand why the business needs the dashboard in the first place.
If you are learning SQL, don't just memorise queries; understand the question you are trying to answer.
And if you are using AI, don't become so dependent on it that you cannot tell when it is wrong.
Because here is the part people often miss: tools make work easier, but they don't replace understanding. The person who only knows the steps can get stuck when the steps change. But when you understand the work itself, moving from one tool to another becomes much easier.
And that is worth remembering as another week begins. The Excel, Power BI, SQL or AI tool you use today may look completely different in a few years.
Learn the tool in front of you, but make sure you are learning the work behind it too.
Enjoy your Sunday.

It is a proud moment for us at Dahel Technologies as we celebrate our Advisor, Mr Nweke Nwike, in State.
He is being conferred with the chieftaincy title “Ifeabata of Awba-Ofemili” in recognition of his service to the community.
His intervention contributed to the restoration of electricity after the community had experienced more than six years of blackout, and today, that effort is being honoured.
Congratulations, sir. We are happy to celebrate this milestone with you and wish you greater accomplishments in the years ahead.

October 1st. Independence Day. Final Data Analytics Cohort of 2026. One big offer. Don’t say we didn’t give you a heads-up.
Something is taking shape behind the scenes, and we have been holding this one close for a while. There has been planning, rethinking, long conversations and the kind of work that does not always make it to the timeline.
But soon, it will. And when it finally arrives, we hope you will feel the same excitement we have felt while putting it together.
If you are anticipating what comes next, drop a 🙌 in the comments.

Do not be deceived by the noise of everyday life. Being busy does not always mean you are moving forward. Sometimes, you are so occupied with work, bills, family, transport and everything else that the plans you once had for yourself slowly get pushed aside.
You probably had things you wanted to do. Maybe you wanted a better career, more income or a skill that could open another door for you. But then life got busy, and somehow, those plans became something you kept saying you would return to. You told yourself, next month. Then next month came, and there was something else to deal with. So you moved it again.
The dream did not disappear. You just got used to putting it off.
And that is how it happens. You do not wake up one day and decide to give up on yourself. You just keep choosing what feels urgent, while what matters to you keeps waiting.
But the world is still moving, and opportunities are moving with it.
The year is not over yet. So if there is something you have been meaning to learn, maybe this is the time to stop waiting for the perfect moment.
And if your work already involves Excel, reports, numbers, business records or any kind of data, then you may already be closer to data analytics than you think.
What you may need now is to learn how to understand the numbers, ask better questions and use the information to make better decisions.
If data analytics is one of those things you have been postponing, maybe this is your sign to finally begin.
Become a Data Analyst before this year ends.

We recently shared laptop recommendations for data analytics.
But what if upgrading your laptop is not possible right now? There are free browser-based tools that can help you practise Python, SQL, dashboards and data visualisation without putting all the workload on your laptop.
Here are 5 useful tools to start with:
1.Google Colab
2.Kaggle Notebooks
3.BigQuery Sandbox
4.Google Data Studio
5.Tableau Public
For each one, we have shared:
1.What it is good for
2.How it can help
3.What to watch out for
4.The direct link
Check the comments below for the full list.
The goal is not to wait until everything is perfect before you start but to use what you have, practise with the tools available to you.
And if you want to move from practising on your own to learning with proper guidance, projects and a clear structure, that is exactly what our upcoming Data Analytics Cohort at DaHel Technologies is designed for.
You will learn the tools, understand how they work together and apply them to practical tasks.
Registration is ongoing. Send us a message to join the next cohort.

If you are buying a laptop for data analytics, do not start with the brand name. Start with the kind of work you expect to do.
A typical analytics session can have Excel, Power BI, SQL tools, Python, a browser and several tabs open at the same time. Because of that, RAM becomes important very quickly. For comfortable everyday work, 16GB is a strong practical target, while heavier workloads may benefit from more.
Next, look beyond the words Core i5 or Core i7. The exact processor model and generation matter. A newer mid-range processor can sometimes be a better choice than an older high-end one, so check the full processor name before buying.
Storage matters too. Go for an SSD rather than an HDD. A 512GB SSD is a sensible target because your applications, datasets and project files can take up space faster than you expect. If NVMe is available, that is even better.
Then think about the software you plan to use. If Power BI Desktop is part of your workflow, Windows is the more straightforward choice.
You also do not need to rush into buying a gaming laptop. For regular work with Excel, SQL, SPSS, Tableau and Power BI, your money is usually better spent on RAM, processor and storage before paying extra for a high-end graphics card.
The display is another detail people often overlook. A 1920×1200 screen gives you more vertical space than 1920×1080, which can make a real difference when you are working with long spreadsheets, dashboards and code.
Already have a laptop? Do not rush to replace it.
Start by checking whether the RAM or storage can be upgraded. If the machine still handles your current tools and datasets comfortably, keep using it until your workload genuinely demands more.
However, if you are buying now, a strong practical target is:
Recent Core i5, Core 5 or Ryzen 5-class processor or better
16GB RAM
512GB SSD
Windows if Power BI Desktop matters
Full HD or 1920×1200 display
And finally, buy for the work ahead.
If you know you will be working with larger datasets, heavier Power BI models, Python notebooks and several applications at once, give yourself some room to grow.
A little Sunday evening melody from one of our favourite moments at the Cross River Tech Summit. In between the big ideas and serious conversations, this performance brought a softer energy to the room and gave everyone a moment to simply enjoy.
We never got her name, but we definitely did not forget the performance.
If you know her, please tag her in the comments. We would love to give her the recognition she deserves.
A beautiful moment to close out our Tech Summit recap.

WHAT THE STAGE LEFT BEHIND, WE KEPT | CRS ICT HUB TECH FEST
Some conversations do not ask for attention. They earn it. That was how this one felt at Cross River Tech Fest.
From the laughter to the moments when he would say something and have the audience repeat it back, it was clear that this was not just another talk on social media strategy. The room was involved from the beginning.
And as the conversation continued, the ideas felt practical, the examples felt familiar, and behind every point was the sense that something had been tried, tested, adjusted and learned from.
More importantly, there were stories behind the lessons and real experiences behind the strategies. That honesty made it easier to connect because the conversation was not only about what works, but also about what it takes to figure out what works.
Perhaps that is what makes a good speaker memorable. It is not only what they say, but how they make the audience feel part of the experience until you realise you have been learning without feeling like you were being lectured.
And that brings us to Mr Joseph Etim.
Sir, this is our evidence that we did not just attend the event.
We heard you.
We repeated after you.
We heard your story.
We connected with your message.
And when we left that room, we carried one thing with us: the Dragon Formula.
Dahel was present.
