A lady was reported to have posted on social media that her itel power tank exploded and has now come out to apologize that she lied and claimed that the image she attached was AI generated.

In my own opinion, if itel Energy doesn't prosecute her, then this whole apology will look like damage control orchestrated by the company.

Someone said the hype about solar is getting too much. This was a comment to my last post (see the attached photo)

My take:

It's not really hype. The solar industry just needs to change its pitch from only cost saving.

If we keep selling solar as "stop paying for electricity" while not emphasizing on cost of solar itself, the argument will never end.

The real value of solar is not just saving money. It's reliability, peace of mind, no noise, no fuel scarcity, and protection from the next tariff hike.

That's the conversation we should be having more.

I saw this advert asking why keep spending N80K every month on inconsistent power when you can switch to solar.

So I did a quick check. At current Band A tariff of N209.5 per unit, with 7.5% VAT it is about N225.2 per unit. So N80K will give you about 355 units per month. That is roughly 11 to 12 units per day for 30 days.

My question is, other than having reliable power supply which solar gives you, how economical is it to spend 80K monthly compared to going solar to get that same 11 to 12 units per day?

And if your electricity is actually stable and you are getting full value for that 80K, will you still consider going solar as economical?
