“s*x workers deserve rights, too.”
every year on international s*x workers’ day, we are reminded of a truth that is often drowned out by stigma, misinformation, and prejudice: s*x workers are human beings, and human rights belong to everyone.
many people are surprised to learn that the legal reality surrounding s*x work in nigeria is more complex than popular conversations often suggest. while laws rightly criminalize trafficking, exploitation, and the procurement of persons for s*xual exploitation, there remains a critical need to distinguish between protecting people from harm and denying people their dignity.
stigma does not improve lives.
criminalization does not erase vulnerability.
silence does not create safety.
what creates safety is access.
what creates dignity is inclusion.
what creates healthier communities is ensuring that every person can seek care and support without fear.
today, we celebrate the resilience, courage, leadership, and contributions of s*x workers across our communities. we acknowledge the challenges they continue to face and reaffirm our commitment to advocating for a world where everyone can live with dignity, autonomy, and respect.

our social media manager may be off today… but the mission never takes a day off.
as we step into june, we want to take a moment to appreciate every person who has journeyed with us, our community members, partners, supporters, advocates, and everyone who continues to believe in a world where dignity, health, inclusion, and human rights are not privileges, but realities for all.
a new month is more than a change on the calendar. it is a fresh page. a chance to learn, grow, connect, and continue showing up for the causes that matter. it is an opportunity to keep building communities where people feel seen, heard, respected, and supported.
