This is Baba Amos Kinda explaining the meaning of the name HINKON, with the correct spelling written clearly on the blackboard.
Some time ago, someone argued with me that the correct spelling was the popular HIKON, insisting that my own spelling, HINKON, was wrong. I simply left him with his argument.
Over time, I’ve also noticed that many people assume HINKON is not a Jukun name simply because they are more familiar with the spelling HIKON.
But here is the interesting part: HINKON is not a mistake, neither is it a wrong spelling. It is the authentic Jukun name and spelling meaning “Pillar of the House.”
Sometimes, what is less popular is not necessarily wrong. It may simply be the original form that fewer people know.

A name I carry with pride, rooted in Jukun identity, heritage, and meaning.
