Barkin Ladi Youth Council, Plateau Conflict Reporter Masara Kim Clash Over Viral Ratatis Burial Video

A fresh controversy has erupted in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area as the Plateau State Youth Council (PYC), Gwol-Barkin Ladi Chapter, condemned a viral video posted by activist Masara Kim Usman regarding the February 2026 mass burial in Ratatis village following a deadly attack.

The youth council in a press statement, described the video's caption as misleading, provocative, and capable of reopening painful memories for affected families, demanding that Masara delete the video and apologize to Plateau State Commissioner for Environment, Climate Change and Mineral Development, Hon. Peter Kanang Gwom.

In response, Masara rejected the demands, insisting that the video was shared in the public interest to highlight the plight of victims and draw attention to worsening insecurity in the area. He accused the youth leaders of prioritizing the defense of government officials instead of advocating for justice and improved security for affected communities.

Masara further maintained that he would neither remove the video nor apologize, arguing that citizens have the right to hold public office holders accountable.
