Strengthening primary healthcare isn't only about building facilities or providing medical supplies. It's also about ensuring that health workers have the right tools to deliver timely, coordinated, and quality care.

We're excited to announce the official launch of the Project as Primary Healthcare (PHC) Management System in Kaduna South LGA, joining Chikun and Igabi LGAs where the platform is already being piloted.

The Lafiyar Iyali PHC Management System is a key component of the Lafiyar Iyali Project's commitment to improving maternal, newborn, and child health through digital innovation. The platform supports health workers in registering and following up with pregnant women, monitoring service delivery, and using real-time data to strengthen decision-making across primary healthcare facilities.

With Kaduna South now onboard, more frontline health workers can leverage technology to improve continuity of care, strengthen antenatal care tracking, and enhance the quality of services available to mothers, babies, and families.

This milestone reflects what is possible when innovation, government partnership, and community-focused healthcare come together to strengthen health systems and improve lives.

As implementation continues across LGAs, we remain committed to supporting a future where every pregnancy is tracked, every mother is supported, and every family has access to quality primary healthcare.

Improving maternal and child health requires more than encouraging women to attend antenatal care. It also requires a health system that can track pregnancies, identify missed appointments early, and use data to ensure no woman is left behind.

That vision is at the heart of the .

As part of preparations for the project's rollout across Kaduna South, Chikun, and Igabi LGAs, frontline health workers participated in an implementation training designed to strengthen their capacity to deliver one of the project's most innovative components.

Beyond introducing participants to the goals and implementation approach of the project, the training provided practical sessions on the ANC Tracker, (www.anctracker.org) a digital platform that supports the registration and follow-up of pregnant women throughout their antenatal care journey. Health workers were also introduced to the Lafiyar Iyali Dashboard, which enables real-time monitoring of programme performance, service uptake, and key maternal health indicators to support evidence-based decision-making.

By combining community engagement with digital innovation and data-driven monitoring, the Lafiyar Iyali Project is helping to strengthen primary healthcare systems and improve maternal, newborn, and child health outcomes across participating communities.

Every pregnant woman who completes her antenatal visits. Every health worker equipped with the right digital tools. Every data point that informs better decisions.

These are the building blocks of healthier families and stronger communities.
