Former IGP Adamu emerges SDP governorship candidate in Nasarawa

Former Inspector-General of Police, IGP, Mohammed Adamu, has emerged as the governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, in Nasarawa State ahead of the 2027 general election.

Mr Adamu emerged at the party’s special delegates congress held on Saturday in Lafia to replace Musa Angba, who withdrew from the governorship race.

Declaring the result, Joseph Achile, Chairman of the Electoral Committee, said Adamu, who was the sole candidate, polled 28,637 votes from delegates across the 13 Local Government Areas, LGAs, of the state.
