Arsenal's agenda before the summer transfer window is to sign players in needed positions who are better than their current options in the squad.

I made this post, and many of my fellow Arsenal fans called me names. But finally, it's heading towards that direction. Atlético Madrid will finally sell Julián Álvarez to Barcelona come January or the next summer transfer window. And finally, Arsenal has missed out on the deal.

That’s the difference.

Jesus could become a very good signing for Barça, but they are gambling on a player Arsenal have already decided is expendable.

And if Barcelona eventually come back for Álvarez, then Jesus becomes the bridge rather than the destination.

For Arsenal, though? I’d take the exit. Free up the wages, clear the pathway and move on.

🚨 EXCLUSIVE: Arsenal and Julian Alvarez’s camp explored a structure in the final hours that could have created a route for the deal to happen.

A senior figure within Arsenal’s hierarchy worked on an exit mechanism that could have been agreed by mutual consent, allowing Alvarez to join Arsenal without permanently closing his preferred route back to Spain.

The worst-case scenario will be Arsenal letting Martinelli leave without replacing him with an upgrade. For me, Martinelli is staying.

Chelsea are busy strengthening their rivals while their fans celebrate the income as if it benefits them. Not playing in Europe doesn't guarantee that. What if an injury strikes? The academy boys will be called in for a rescue.
