𝐁𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐃𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐛𝐨𝐚𝐫𝐝…⁣
⁣
Ask yourself one question:⁣
⁣
What decision is this dashboard supposed to help someone make?”⁣
⁣
A good dashboard isn't just a collection of charts, colours and KPIs.⁣
⁣
It should help someone quickly understand:⁣
⁣
* What is happening?⁣
* Why is it happening?⁣
* Where is the problem?⁣
* What needs attention?⁣
* What action should we take?⁣
⁣
This is why we always emphasise 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐲𝐬𝐭, not just learning the tools.⁣
⁣
Excel, SQL, and Power BI are tools.⁣
⁣
The real skill is knowing how to use them to solve problems.⁣
⁣
Follow 𝐈𝐃 𝐀𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐲𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬 for practical tips on working with data.⁣

𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐚. 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬.⁣
⁣
One of the biggest differences between someone who 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐚 and someone who 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐬 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐲𝐬𝐭 is the questions they ask.⁣
⁣
Before opening Excel.⁣
Before writing SQL.⁣
Before building that Power BI dashboard.⁣
⁣
Ask:⁣
⁣
𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐦 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐯𝐞?⁣
⁣
Then:⁣
⁣
🔹 What exactly do we need to know?⁣
🔹 What data can help us answer it?⁣
🔹 What patterns should we look for?⁣
🔹 What would the business do differently based on the answer?⁣
⁣
The tools are important.⁣
⁣
But 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠.⁣
⁣
