UNWAHALA: "I bought shares worth N20,000 in Fidelity Bank 18 years ago and never checked how much I had made. But after hearing about Dangote selling shares, I decided to finally check my investment in September 2026.
To my surprise, I was told the shares had only given me a total of N5,332 after 18 years."

Ibrahim Idris: The Nearly Nine Year Journey That Shaped Modern Kogi
Alhaji Ibrahim Idris was Governor of Kogi State from 29 May 2003 to January 2012, with a brief interruption in 2008 after his 2007 re-election was nullified by the court for excluding ANPP candidate Abubakar Audu. Clarence Olafemi served briefly as acting governor before Idris returned. His almost nine year tenure makes him one of the longest serving civilian governors in the state's history.
His administration was defined by heavy infrastructure spending:
Water: The Greater Lokoja Water Scheme to address Lokoja's chronic water shortage, plus water projects across the three senatorial districts.
Roads: Reconstruction and dualisation of Lokoja roads, street lighting, and intervention on the federal Ganaja-Ajaokuta road.
Healthcare: Construction of the Kogi State Specialist Hospital, Lokoja, and recruitment of medical personnel.
Education: Major investment in Kogi State University, Anyigba, and construction of primary school blocks across the state - reportedly around 2,000 four-classroom blocks.
Electricity: Extension of power from Ajaokuta to Lokoja and to Anyigba and environs.
Housing: Estates in Otokiti and Ganaja in Lokoja and other areas to manage rapid urbanisation.
Civil Service: Clearance of inherited salary and leave-bonus arrears and salary reforms.
He died today in London at 77
