​We have officially submitted a formal petition to the APC Primary Election Appeals Committee regarding the recent MMC Federal Constituency primary selection process.

​A primary election conducted without notifying our campaign, keeping the arrangements secret, and deliberately excluding our thousands of loyal supporters across MMC is not democracy—it is an ambush.

​Engr. Dr. Yahaya Wasili Ahmad has remained a loyal and peaceful party man, but we will not sit by and watch the voices of Maiduguri people silenced.

We completely reject the flawed declaration of Rt. Hon. Abdulkadir Rahis and demand a fresh, transparent, and fair election where the true will of the people can be counted.

​The fight for justice, fairness, and true leadership for MMC has just begun.

THE MOMENT OF TRUTH: Why is the Incumbent Afraid of the Grassroots? 🔥
​Today, the political destiny of the Maiduguri Metropolitan Council (MMC) is being decided at the primaries. The atmosphere is charged, the lines are drawn, and the message from the grassroots is loud and clear.
​For years, the political space has been dominated by old narratives, but today, a formidable lineup of visionary aspirants has stepped into the ring to challenge the status quo:

​These under signed aspirants represent the collective yearning of MMC for genuine development, fresh ideas, and accessible leadership. They are not hiding; they are on the field, facing the party faithful.

​But the biggest question on every voter's lips today in Maiduguri is: Why is the present member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Abdulkadir Rahis, so terrified of a transparent, open primary election? 🤫🤔

​After serving three consecutive terms in Abuja, an incumbent should ideally be eager to showcase his track record. Yet, the panic in the air tells a different story.

𝙃𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙞𝙨 𝙚𝙭𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙡𝙮 𝙬𝙝𝙮 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙛𝙚𝙖𝙧 𝙞𝙨 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙡:

​1️⃣ The Fear of the Direct Verdict: When you spend your time relying on political "godfathers" and small circles of handpicked delegates to protect your seat, the idea of facing thousands of ordinary, card-carrying party members at the ward level becomes a nightmare.

2️⃣ Three Terms of What? A lawmaker who has truly brought tangible development, high-quality representation, and real benefits to the people of MMC wouldn't run away from a primary. The fear of this election is an open admission that the grassroots have felt abandoned.

The MMC Collective Position
​History is made when leaders prioritize the voice of the people. Today, May 15, 2026, the aspirants for the Maiduguri Metropolitan Council (MMC) House of Representatives seat have come together under the APC platform to take a firm stand for transparency and grassroots representation.

​In a formal letter addressed to the Borno Central Reconciliation Committee, the undersigned aspirants have collectively called for Direct Primary Elections.

​𝙒𝙝𝙮 𝘿𝙞𝙧𝙚𝙘𝙩 𝙋𝙧𝙞𝙢𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙨?

​The core of this decision rests on the belief that a competitive, open, and transparent primary is the most democratic way 𝙩𝙤:

​Ensure the candidate is acceptable to the majority.

​Command genuine grassroots support.

​Strengthen internal party democracy.

​Secure a decisive victory in the general elections.
