Building collapse is preventable — and it starts with who you trust to build.

At a Night of Tributes held in Omagwa for the late Emmanuel Mark, former NIESV First Vice President, NIESV President Mallam Bature Ali Muhammad used the moment to renew a critical warning: many building failures stem from quackery, compromised specifications, and developers cutting corners with unqualified practitioners.

NIESV Rivers Branch Chairman, ESV Nwokoma Nwankwo, paid tribute to Mark's legacy of mentorship and integrity — values the institution says must guide the profession forward.

NIESV reaffirmed its continued collaboration with the EFCC, ICPC, Police and SCUML to root out impostors and protect the public.

On Thursday, 2nd July 2026, the NIESV Rivers State Branch made history with the Maiden Edition of Orientation and The Gathering of Fellows at The Vineyard Event Place, Woji Road, GRA Phase II, Port Harcourt.

Themed "United in Fellowship: Building Legacy and Advancing Professional Excellence" — this landmark event brought together Fellows of the Rivers State Branch for an evening of knowledge, mentorship, fellowship and professional development.

It was a gathering worthy of the institution we represent.
