🚨 VIRAL CALABAR SHOOTING VIDEO: POLICE ARREST SUSPECTED CULT LEADER

The Cross River State Police Command has arrested a 24-year-old UNICROSS student, Emmanuel Ejim Ejim, over a viral video allegedly showing suspected cult members firing gunshots from a moving vehicle in Calabar.

According to the police, the incident occurred in the early hours of September 17, 2026, following a sign-out activity involving students.

Police said intelligence-led operations by the Violence Crime Response Unit (VCRU) led to the identification of the vehicle seen in the video and the arrest of its driver. Investigators subsequently traced Ejim to a hotel in Calabar, where he was arrested.

The police alleged that Ejim identified himself as a leader of the Vikings Confraternity and admitted to being the person seen firing the shots. He allegedly told investigators that another suspected member handed him the pistol used in the incident.

The Command said a manhunt has been intensified for other persons allegedly connected to the incident, while investigations continue into how the firearm was obtained and the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Ajo Geoffrey Ordue, ordered a comprehensive investigation and directed that anyone found to have participated in or facilitated the alleged act be brought before the law.

The police also urged members of the public to report suspicious movements, illegal possession of fi****ms and cult-related activities.
