SEPTEMBER EDITION

OUR MONTH OF DELIVERANCE FOR GREATER EXPLOITS

2026 — OUR YEAR OF GREATER EXPLOITS

DAY 249 – SEPTEMBER 6

SPEAKER: Pastor Samuel Eyo
🕊️ TITLE: DELIVERED FROM DISCOURAGEMENT

📖 KEY SCRIPTURE
“Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.”
— Psalm 42:5 (KJV)

📚 READING SCRIPTURES

“And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him... but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.”
— 1 Samuel 30:6 (KJV)

“...for the joy of the LORD is your strength.”
— Nehemiah 8:10 (KJV)

EXPOSITION
Discouragement is one of the silent enemies of destiny. It may not stop a person physically, but it can make a person stop believing, stop praying, stop trying, and eventually stop moving toward what God has ordained for their life.
There are moments when life becomes difficult and the results we expected do not come when we expected them. Sometimes you pray and still see challenges. You work hard and things seem slow. You encourage everyone else, but inside you are asking, “When will my own testimony come?”
That is where discouragement tries to take root.
David experienced such a moment at Ziklag. Everything seemed to have gone wrong. His city had been destroyed, his family had been taken away, and the people who were with him became so bitter that they talked about stoning him. Yet the Bible says something powerful:
“But David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.”
David did not allow his situation to become the final definition of his life.
Sometimes you have to learn how to encourage yourself in God. You may not always have someone around you to speak a word of encouragement. You may not always have somebody who understands what you are going through. But you can return to the Word of God and remind yourself of His promises.
Your present situation is not the conclusion of your story.
The enemy wants discouragement to make you forget what God has already said. When you become discouraged, you begin to magnify the problem and minimize God's power. But faith does the opposite: faith recognizes the problem while magnifying the greatness of God.
David eventually recovered everything that had been taken from him. His season of distress did not become the end of his destiny.
Therefore, don't quit because of a difficult season.
Don't abandon your assignment because things are not moving as quickly as you expected.
Don't stop praying because the answer seems delayed.
Don't stop believing because yesterday was difficult.
There is still hope in God.
Psalm 42 teaches us to speak to our own souls. Sometimes you have to tell yourself:
“Soul, why are you discouraged? Hope in God!”
You may have cried, but you will praise again.
You may have been disappointed, but you will testify again.
You may have experienced delay, but delay is not the denial of God's purpose.
You may have fallen, but you can rise again.
This month of deliverance, may God deliver you from every spirit of discouragement, hopelessness, weariness, and resignation. May your strength return. May your vision become clear again. May your prayer life come alive again. May your passion for God's assignment be restored.
You are not finished. God is not finished with you. Your story is still being written.

SERMON POINTS
1. Discouragement Can Distort Your Perspective
When you are discouraged, problems can look bigger than God's promises.
Psalm 42:5 reminds us to redirect our focus from our circumstances to God.
2. Learn to Encourage Yourself in the Lord
David did not wait for somebody else to strengthen him.
“But David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.” — 1 Samuel 30:6
Sometimes your greatest encouragement will come from remembering God's faithfulness.
3. Don't Make a Permanent Decision Because of a Temporary Season
A difficult season can change.
What you are experiencing today does not have the authority to determine what tomorrow will become.
4. The Joy of the Lord Restores Strength
“...for the joy of the LORD is your strength.” — Nehemiah 8:10
When your joy returns, your strength begins to rise.
5. Keep Moving Toward God's Purpose
Discouragement says, “Stop.”
Faith says, “Keep going.”
There is still something ahead of you that God wants you to accomplish.

PRAYER POINTS
Father, deliver me from every spirit of discouragement and hopelessness, in Jesus' name.
Lord, restore my strength wherever life has weakened my faith and courage.
Father, help me to encourage myself in You even when I cannot see immediate results.
Every voice telling me to quit, give up, or abandon my God-given assignment, I reject it in Jesus' name.
Lord, restore my joy, passion, vision, prayer life, and confidence in Your promises.
Father, let every lost opportunity, delayed testimony, and area of my life that has suffered setback receive divine restoration according to Your will.
I receive fresh strength to continue my journey and fulfill my purpose, in Jesus' name.

PROPHETIC DECLARATION
I declare over your life today: You shall not die in the place of discouragement!
Your strength is returning.
Your hope is returning.
Your joy is returning.
Your confidence is returning.
The fire upon your prayer altar shall not go out.
You shall not abandon your assignment.
You shall not give up on your destiny.
Every voice of defeat speaking against your future is silenced by the truth of God's Word.
Where you have experienced disappointment, may God give you renewed expectation.
Where you have experienced delay, may God give you grace to remain steadfast.
Where you have been weak, may fresh strength arise.
You will rise again!
You will pray again!
You will believe again!
You will rejoice again!
You will testify again!
And by the grace of God, you shall accomplish greater exploits.
In Jesus' mighty name. Amen!

AMAZING FACT
📌 DAVID'S GREATEST MOMENT OF ENCOURAGEMENT CAME IN ONE OF HIS DARKEST MOMENTS
In 1 Samuel 30:6, David was facing an extremely difficult situation, yet that was the moment he encouraged himself in the Lord.
This teaches us something powerful:
Sometimes your greatest comeback begins with one decision—not to give up.
David went from distress to recovery.
Your present battle does not have to become your final story.

🔥 TODAY'S CHARGE:
DON'T GIVE UP. ENCOURAGE YOURSELF IN THE LORD. THERE IS STILL MORE AHEAD!

SEPTEMBER EDITION

Day 248 – September 5

Speaker : Pastor Samuel Eyo
Title: Delivered from the Weight of the Past

Key Scripture
“Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.” — Isaiah 43:18 (KJV)

Reading Scriptures
“Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before.” — Philippians 3:13 (KJV)

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature...” — 2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV)

Exposition
The past can teach us, but it should not imprison us.
Everyone has experiences they wish they could change—mistakes, disappointments, missed opportunities, failures, or painful memories. However, God does not require us to live permanently under the weight of yesterday.
Paul had a past that could have become a source of condemnation, yet he refused to let it prevent him from pursuing God's calling. He acknowledged where he had come from, but he focused on where God was taking him.
There is a difference between learning from the past and living in the past.
Learn the lesson. Make the necessary correction. Ask forgiveness where appropriate. Receive God's forgiveness. Then keep moving forward.
Your previous chapter is not the entire book. God is still writing your story.

Points
Your past is part of your story, not your identity.
God can redeem mistakes and failures.
Learn from yesterday without living there.
Forgiveness creates room for forward movement.
Greater exploits require a forward-looking faith.

Prayer Points
Father, help me release the things I cannot change.
Give me wisdom to learn from my past.
Heal the places where past experiences have affected my confidence.
Help me receive Your forgiveness and walk in grace.
Give me courage to pursue the future You have prepared for me.

Prophetic Declaration
I am not a prisoner of my past. I receive grace to move forward. Yesterday cannot stop my tomorrow. I am becoming everything God has called me to become, and I am moving forward into greater exploits.

Amazing Fact
📖 Paul had once persecuted the early Christians, yet God later used him as one of the most influential messengers of the Gospel in the New Testament (Acts 9 onward). His past did not prevent God from giving him a new assignment.
