The ESAIC Research Committee has opened applications for the ESAIC-EJA Grants and BJA-ESAIC Grants 2027, supporting research in anaesthesiology and intensive care:
❇️ ESAIC-EJA Andreas Hoeft Grant, €55,000 - anaesthesiology,
❇️ ESAIC-EJA Paolo Pelosi Grant, €55,000 - intensive care,
❇️ BJA-ESAIC Grants, 2 x €60,000 - early career,
❇️ BJA-ESAIC Grant, €80,000 - sustainability.

How it works:
📝 Submit a short application by 4 October 2026,
📨 Shortlisted applicants are invited to send a full application by 4 January 2027,
🧑‍⚖️ Each full application is reviewed by the committee,
🏆 Results announced in April 2027.

⏳ The short application is the first step, so start now and give your idea a chance.

Trainees, save the date for CONNECT.Albania 2026 🇦🇱. Co-organised by ESAIC and the Albanian Society of Anaesthesiologists and Intensivists, this two-day meeting will bring together trainees and colleagues from across the region for scientific sessions, hands-on learning and networking in anaesthesiology, intensive care and perioperative medicine 🩺🤝.

Have a project, case or research idea to share? You can also submit an abstract and present your work as a poster during the congress. Accepted submissions will be considered for the Best Poster Award. 📝

🇳🇱 Euroanaesthesia 2026 brought trainees together in Rotterdam for three days of learning, discussion and new connections.

🎓 At the Trainee Hub, we explored research, academic careers, crisis management and international training, and all the different paths a career in anaesthesiology and intensive care can take.

💡 Huge thanks to our speakers for sharing their wisdom!

🌍 We also showcased the ESAIC Exchange Programme and European Trainee Ambassador Programme, proving how much we gain from international collaboration.

🤝 The real magic happened when trainees learned from each other - in sessions and at the networking event.
