Welcome to the infamous page of Codarts Classical Percussion Department from Rotterdam - Netherlands
The Classical Percussion Department of Codarts Rotterdam is a world-famous department with a big history. In the end of the 80's Robert van Sice was one of the first teachers leading a European well-known marimba class. Nowadays the Percussion department is lead by Chris Leenders (timpani & orchestral percussion) and Ramon Lormans (solo and chamber music). They are the main two professors, with many specialists and guest teachers around them. Amongst them are Martin Ansink - Residentie orkest (orchestral percussion), Murk Jiskoot - Metropole orchestra (Hand drums & African percussion), René Spierings - Percossa (Theatrical training), Jorge Sanz Pineda - freelance (setup and latin percussion),
Nicolas Suter - Tchiki duo (Artistic development coach, duo & chamber music) and Fedor Teunisse - Slagwerk Den Haag & Asko/Schönberg (Contemporary music & setup)
