A 27-year-old Nepali student, Sushant Pant, has been missing in St. Louis, Missouri, USA, since the night of Shrawan 10.

According to his family, he went missing after finishing his shift at a gas station and heading home. Local U.S. police and the Embassy of Nepal have been informed, but his whereabouts remain unknown.

टोकियो । जापानमा अवैध रूपमा बसोबास गरिरहेका ११ जना विदेशी नागरिकलाई प्रहरी र अध्यागमन विभागले संयुक्त कारबाही गर्दै नियन्त्रणमा लिएको छ। बिहीबार इबाराकी प्रिफेक्चरको कामिसु सिटीस्थित एउटा अपार्टमेन्टमा छापा मारेर उनीहरूलाई नियन्त्रणमा लिइएको हो। इबाराकी प्रिफेक्चर प्रहरी र टोकियो क्षेत्रीय अध्यागमन सेवा ब्युरोले संयुक्त रूपमा सञ्चालन गरेको कारबाहीमा अपार्टमेन्टका ६ वटा कोठामा बसिरहेका ११ जनालाई फेला पारिएको थियो। अध्यागमन विभागका अनुसार नियन्त्रणमा परेकामध्ये १० जना थाइल्यान्डका नागरिक र १ जना लाओसका नागरिक रहेका छन्। सबैलाई भिसाको वैध अवधि सकिएपछि पनि जापानमै बसिरहेको आरोपमा नियन्त्रणमा लिएर थप अनुसन्धान सुरु गरिएको छ। पछिल्लो समय जापानमा अवैध बसोबास गर्ने विदेशीविरुद्ध अध्यागमन विभाग र स्थानीय प्रहरीले संयुक्त रूपमा निगरानी तथा कारबाहीलाई तीव्र बनाउँदै आएका छन्। अधिकारीहरूका अनुसार वैध भिसाबिनाको बसोबास रोक्न यस्ता अपरेसन आगामी दिनमा पनि निरन्तर जारी रहनेछन् ।

Yanki Ukyab is a high-level international development economist and the newly appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Investment Board Nepal (IBN). The Cabinet made the decision to entrust her with the leadership of the board following an evaluation of her outstanding academic credentials and extensive national and international experience.

Born in Kathmandu, Ukyab traces her ancestral roots to Olangchunggola in Taplejung district. She comes from a distinguished family background; her father, Jonden Ukyab, served as Nepal's former Consul General to Lhasa and as a Zonal Commissioner (Anchaladhish) during the Panchayat era. She is also a relative of the world-renowned ophthalmologist Dr. Sanduk Ruit (Dr. Ruit's mother is her paternal aunt).

Academically, she holds top-tier qualifications, including a Master’s degree in Public Policy from the prestigious Oxford University in the UK and a Master’s degree in Development Economics from the University of Missouri in the United States.

Ukyab brings over 15 years of rich global expertise in public investment, sustainable development, climate finance, and economic policymaking. Her career includes serving as a Senior Policy Advisor at the UNDP Pacific Office in Fiji, a Development Economist at UNDP Nepal, and a senior consultant/expert for Investment Board Nepal.

Her appointment came after a recommendation committee chaired by Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle shortlisted three candidates—Yanki Ukyab, Manoj Poudel, and Jitendra Dhital—with the Cabinet ultimately selecting Ukyab based on her exceptional international track record.

Nepal national cricket team star Kushal Bhurtel has been appointed as the new Brand Ambassador of Nepal Telecom. A formal agreement was signed between Nepal Telecom Managing Director Sangeeta Pahadi (Aryal) and Bhurtel on Shrawan 20, 2083 BS.
