Leading NZ’s FIRST advanced radiation safety gown screening programme with cutting-edge FLOW-D technology, empowering healthcare teams with verified PPE protection and compliance you can trust.
Your diagnostic equipment finds the obvious stuff — the cracks, the splits, the wear you can see. But a vest can look perfectly intact and still be failing where it actually matters: lead equivalency, thickness consistency, the protection you can't check with your eyes.
That's the real question nobody's answering... Is that vest actually protecting your staff, or does it just look like it is??
FlowD is the only system that measures actual lead-equivalent thickness, giving you quantifiable results and auditable data you can stand behind. Not a visual check — real proof of real protection, so you can have genuine surety on the health and safety of everyone wearing it.

A world first is coming to NZSMIRT 2026!
NZRad Solutions is excited to announce we’ll be exhibiting at the NZSMIRT conference in Auckland, 10–13 September.
For the first time, New Zealand clinicians and technicians will get to see FlowD — a truly revolutionary step forward for radiation health and safety.
FlowD couples state-of-the-art digital detector technology with AI-driven algorithms in a dedicated, single-purpose solution for testing lead gowns and confirming true lead equivalency. No more guesswork, no more manual inspection gaps — just fast, accurate, visible assurance that you and your staff are protected.
Efficiency, safety, visibility, combined in one system and built for the realities of clinical practice.
Come find us at NZSMIRT, Auckland 10–13 September. We’d love to show you FlowD firsthand.
Your thyroid collar could be failing right now and you’d never know.
Tears along the edge. Lead thinning down to 0.33mm, well under the safety range. It’s happening because that collar sits on your neck through every single shift, moving when you move, wearing down faster than almost anything else in your kit.
You can’t see radiation exposure. You can see this. NZRad inspections catch what your eyes can’t, before it becomes a compliance problem or worse.
Get your PPE checked properly.
A 30mm and a 7mm hole, along with mechanical wear at the seams and stitching failures invisible to the naked eye, are what radiation PPE degradation actually looks like, and it is happening in vests being worn on your floor right now. FlowD found all of it instantly, without manual inspection, without guesswork, and without leaving any damage sitting undetected in your compliance blind spot. The vest shown here has now been quarantined, which raises the real question of how many more are still in circulation across your department.
See what FlowD would find in your PPE inventory. Book a demo today and get a real answer rather than an assumption.
This week Tony and I are on the road visiting radiology and cardiology departments - Christchurch first (24 June), then Dunedin Thursday (25 June) and Invercargill/Queenstown on Friday (26 June).
If you're running a radiology or cardiology department and want to talk radiation safety, gown compliance or what FlowD could do for your team, we've got a few coffee slots open to chat about what you actually need.
Send us a message or give us a call - would be great to see you.

"No problems," they said. Then we rescreened it. This gown passed its last traditional check. Our screening found the lead thinning past ten percent of nominal 0.5mm equivalency. That's real exposure risk for your staff.
We quarantined it and handed the results straight to the radiation safety officer. The call is always the hospital's. But a gown this far under spec shouldn't go back into service.
Passed once doesn't mean safe now. Screen it properly.
A gown comes through the FlowD scanner and fails. It gets a unique tag and it's identified and quarantined. Whether it's pulled from circulation is the department's call, but now they have the record to make that decision with confidence. And if that gown ever surfaces again? It's traceable. There's a record. No guesswork, no "we think it's fine." No liability lurking in a storage cupboard.
That's what accurate PPE asset management looks like in 2026.

Your lead gown looks fine….and it might be. BUT 85% of the gowns that failed at this hospital failed because of LEAD THINNING — not holes you could see or feel. Traditional fluoroscopy would’ve missed every single one. We didn’t.
Meet the new gold standard in NZ radiation gown screening!
For too long, X-ray PPE inspection in NZ has meant guesswork. Hidden cracks. Thinning material. Compromised lead equivalency you can’t see with the naked eye.
FlowD changes that.
This video shows NZRad Solutions’ world-first, non-contact radiographic screening methodology in action — the only way to prove your gowns are actually protecting your team and patients.
If your radiation safety gowns aren’t screened, you’re guessing. Stop guessing.
