Auckland Off Road Racing Club caters for everyone wanting to go off road and we welcome new members. We meet for club night every "First Wednesday" of the month at The Bee Keepers Wife restaurant/cafe at 7.30pm Riverhead town centre. You can join us as a visitor, as an associate member, a volunteer, or a competition member. We also cater for trail riding on a regular basis. We concentrate on our racing schedule and provide membership for drivers to compete in local events and in the ORANZ National Series. Our signature event is The Woodhill 100 off road race held every Queens Birthday Weekend ( since 1982 ) in the Woodhill Forest. Formed in 1976 as the Auckland Buggy Club ( ABC ), we were the first group formed to cater for the beach buggy era, holding fun events and endurance races in the RNZAF Bombing Range at South Head, Kaipara, north of Auckland. The Off Road Association Of New Zealand ( ORANZ ) was formed in 1984 establishing the National Competition Series. This gives every driver the opportunity to compete at the highest level.
Remembering Louise Houghton
It is with great sadness that the Auckland Offroad Racing Club acknowledges the passing of Louise Houghton, who passed away on 25 September.
Our sincere condolences go to Glen and Louise’s family at this difficult time.
For many years, Louise was an important part of our race meetings, quietly working behind the scenes as our lap scorer and points coordinator. Her dedication extended beyond our club, as she also gave her time and experience to support the Offroad Racing Association and the wider offroad racing community throughout New Zealand.
Louise was one of those people who could always be relied upon to step forward and help. Her contribution may often have taken place away from the spotlight, but it was an essential part of keeping our racing running smoothly.
She leaves behind many memories and friendships made around the racetrack, and her absence will be keenly felt by everyone who knew her.
Thank you, Louise, for everything you gave to our club and our sport.
You will be remembered with great affection by the Auckland Offroad Racing Club and the many people whose lives you touched through offroad racing.
Rest in peace, Louise.

Registration / Pre-Race Inspection:
Registration – Please register and collect the pre-race inspection sheet
Once you have registered and had your safety gear inspected, proceed to Pre-Race Inspection. Passengers must register and have their gear checked

EVENT CANCELLED! The 2026 Peter Howell Memorial Offroad Race has been cancelled due to a lack of early entries. Due to the considerable cost involved in staging forest enduros, the committee of the Auckland Offroad Racing Club have decided not to take the chance of entries on the day to save the event and has made the call to cancel this year's event. This is not done lightly, but we feel we owe it to the competitors to make the call early and save them from the cost of prepping their race cars for the event.
In future, we ask that competitors enter early. If things don't work out for you, or us, we will always refund your fees. Early entries are our only way of knowing how many competitors we will have on race day.

Determines grid position in Race 1.
You will be gridding up for race 2 in order of finishing race 1
Drivers Briefing:
This will be held at Race Control. There will be a roll call. Clerk of the course will do the briefing. ALL DRIVERS & PASSENGERS MUST ATTEND
Race Format: Qualifying Sprint
Race 1 – Starts in order of qualifying time.
Race 2 –Will start 1 hour after first race finishes Grid up in order of finishing race 1
No Kiwi trucks at this event.
Prize giving:
To be held on completion of the race, at the track.
Trophies 1st, 2nd, 3rd Overall 1st in class only.
