How about a non fitness related post of me and the kids for a change šš»āāļøš§š§ Poor Dad sick at home in bed while we go out and eat so good food.
We spend a lot of time talking about weight loss.
Meanwhile, physical inactivity costs New Zealand over $600 million a year in healthcare.
GLP-1s have their place, but they donāt build cardiovascular fitness, stronger bones, better mental health or physical literacy.
Our kids should be getting at least an hour of movement every day, and too many arenāt.
We need to start valuing movement as much as we value the number on the scales.
This is why you will always see images like these on my story. I place strong emphasis on getting outdoors, walking and playing with my kids. Teaching them the value of physical activity.
If you couldnāt tell Iām invested in the tea š«
I am a massive sceptic of the wellness and supplement industry as a whole.
We think this stuff doesnāt affect us in NZ but it does and Iām keen to see where this brand heads from here.
PS. Please excuse my nasally tone today š¤§
Iāve posted this in a few places because this influencer is also a coach. If that is the level of coaching itās concerning. No I will not name names.
If you gain excess body fat you are eating in a surplus⦠period! Carbs are not evil and do not prevent weight loss or cause weight gain when calories are accounted for.
Since Iām always on the lookout for new treats and snacks, I decided I would start sharing my finds with you.
Today, itās the new Tasti Rise Protein bars.
A super easy snack. Low carb for those with that preference. A close to decent protein to calorie ratio.
What I liked about it was the texture, far better than some āproteinā bars on the market.
Have you tried them? Let me know what you think š
If your goal is weight loss, you need to be in a calorie deficit. Itās the only way to lose body fat. How you create that deficit is where most people go wrong.
Cut your calories too low and youāll struggle to sustain your normal daily movement, feel tired, and your body will naturally start conserving energy. Iām not talking about āstarvation modeā, that doesnāt exist. Iām talking about the very real drop in energy expenditure that happens when youāre under fuelled.
The goal isnāt to eat as little as possible. Itās to eat as much as you can while still staying in a calorie deficit and consistently losing weight. Thatās what makes it sustainable.
š¤In reality I know I just need to commit to the cut or the bulk and be done with it š
Stuck on what protein to buy?
This is your quick overview of what the main types are and my recommendations on personally preferred brands.
Feel like I missed something or want to add your favourite brand, comment below š
Protein powder shouldnāt require investigative journalism.
My stance on supplements is you donāt need them. They are a tool which can be included in your tool belt.
I will always advocate for eating whole foods over a protein powder, but I also wonāt deny they have their place.
