Flora And Thread

If you’re new around here, hello! I’m Harriett, the human behind Flora & Thread.

🌸 I’m a mum of two, a lifelong garden lover, and someone who genuinely cannot be trusted to walk past a plant without stopping to inspect it.

Flora & Thread started from a love of growing flowers and wanting to make arranging them at home a little easier.

And the plot twist? It’s just little old me doing all of this. Designing, printing, packing orders, answering messages, creating content, growing flowers, trying to keep the house vaguely functioning ( still trying to figure out how a new robot vacuum can be justified after the 💩 incident) and occasionally wondering what on earth I’m doing 😂

I still have MASSIVE imposter syndrome and regularly wonder who on earth I am to be doing any of this. So having 14,000 of you here feels a little bit wild, and I’m incredibly grateful that you’re here.

I’m happiest in the garden, love a good bargain plant, will happily spend hours talking about how to grow something, and if you accidentally get me started on plants, flowers or gardening, please know that you’ve made a terrible mistake because I WILL NOT STOP. 😂

I love sharing the successes, the failures, the gardening tips, the flowers I’ve grown, and the slightly chaotic reality of trying to build a little business around something I love.

So whether you’re here for the gardening tips, the flowers, the vases, or just to watch me enthusiastically waffle about plants, welcome!

This is my favourite tree- Prunus x yedoensis ‘Awanui’. Such a beautiful tree and boy does she grow fast in the Waikato!! 🌸🌸🌸 What is your absolute FAVOURITE tree?

Was a busy and wonderful few weeks it has been. Thanks for coming along for the ride!! 🌸🌿🩷

New dates have been added for the 26/27 season!! Can’t wait to see you there 🌸🩷🌿

Hmmm every year I say I will stake my plants and every year I wait until a really windy day to finally do it… I still can’t decide the best way to provide my plants support. Obviously it will be different depending on the plants you grow and your situation eg home gardener vs flower farmer.. 🩷🌿🌸 if you have figured it out let us know in the comments!
