One of the best things about this Greatest Rivalry series has been the chance for All Blacks and Bokke fans to get to know each other’s players better than ever 🇳🇿🇿🇦

Back when South African teams played in Super Rugby, fans from both nations knew each other’s top players really well. But since 2020, a lot of fans have only really been introduced to new players through social media, clips and international rugby.

This Springboks side is CRAZY good. There are next to no weaknesses, and their ability to step up and win the big moments is second to none 🏆

You might not always like playing them - but you have to respect their ability 👏🇿🇦

This Springboks scrum is almost like nothing we’ve ever seen in rugby. Every forward pack in the world is being sent backwards by it, and honestly, it’s hard to fathom 🇿🇦

It’s clearly an incredibly powerful eight-man unit, but a lot of the magic is happening in the front row. Ox Nche and Malcolm Marx were both two of the four players nominated for World Rugby Player of the Year last season, with Marx ultimately taking home the award 🏆

And for me, these are the two best players in the world in their respective positions. They work together on the tighthead, while their own tighthead prop effectively holds the scrum up - and teams simply haven’t found an answer for it 🤷🏽‍♂️

Sometimes, your best just isn’t good enough. We might be watching all-time greats in action without even realising it 🐐🐐

As someone who has watched his Super Rugby team lose four finals in a row and his country lose an agonising Rugby World Cup final in the last few years, you’d think I’d be used to big game disappointment by now 😂

Wrong.

The Springboks rocked up in front of 85,000+ fans and showed the rugby world why they’re the best team on the planet right now. This one stings. It annoys me. I hate losing to the Boks, especially when there was so much on the line, but that’s sport, that’s life and the world keeps moving 🫤

The All Blacks and their fans will have to lick their wounds after another loss in rugby’s greatest rivalry. It’s hard to really pinpoint one moment where it all went wrong. A couple of missed kicks at goal, a few crucial missed tackles, a scrum that was constantly going backwards and a kick that went dead all added up to another Springboks win when it mattered most 🤝

That’s the frustrating part. It wasn’t one huge moment. It was all the little moments that eventually caught up with us. All those 3am wake-ups, alarms and tired mornings were still worth it. Just disappointing to put in all that time, get your hopes up and come away with another loss. That’s sport I guess. I’ll still be setting that alarm for the next one 🖤

The Springboks now can’t lose the four-Test series and the All Blacks can no longer win it, but there’s still one left. Baltimore awaits, and the All Blacks have a chance to finish this series 2-2 👊
