Bad Ham Comix

Introducing my daughter Tegan Tocker to F.W. Murnau's 1922 silent film Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror.
Next week, Robert Eggers' 2024 version.

One of my earliest writing influences. Kurt Vonnegut was introduced to me by Junior High School Teacher. Known for biting satire and dark humor. Perhaps best known as the Author of "The Slaughterhouse Five", Vonnegut also wrote "Cat's Cradle", "The Sirens of Titan", and "Mother Night."
Known for his biting satire of government, the war machine, rising corporate control, and erosion of rights Vonnegut is one of the most well known figures of early counter-culture along side Aldous Huxley, and George Orwell.

Did anyone else grow up around Hot Rods? The screeching of tires, the smell of the burning rubber, flames gushing from short straight exhaust pipes, and 'Ol Blacktop Belial, the Speed Demon sitting on your shoulder screaming "FASTER" in your ear daring you to "Put the peddle to the metal." I mean what could possibly go wrong, right?

Sketched this bad boy sitting at my best mates kitchen take with a ballpoint pen and a piece of scrap paper. I still find it amazing how versatile even the cheapest of ballpoint pens are. If you've never sketched with one, seriously give it a try.

Bear and I watched a documentary on Popcorn Sutton the other day called "This is the last dam run of Likker I'll ever make" which inspired this drawing. Never far from a sketchbook even when out for lunch. I love watching drawing develop in front of my eyes.

Day 23

Definitely not the pretty twinkling kind of firefly most people know. Your house is likely to be a casualty if this guy comes by.

(I have had to wait til today to see this. I loved the idea of it from the outset.)

Day 22

Unfortunately life had to come first once again and it seems fitting that I chose a Panic Button for this prompt. Last week a family member suddenly and unexpectedly passed and her Funeral was yesterday.

Sometimes I think that if I were to find the Universal Control Panel there would be a big Panic Button with an Out of Order note taped to it, written on an old receipt from the local Thai Food Restaurant.

Day 21

Sign me up for this ride!!

Day 20

Classic rivalry at its cartoon best

Day 19

The Arctic is not a place I would want to live. Except for the beauty of the Northern Lights.
