A ship captain was audited by company's representative & P&I insurance, coming from a very rough voyage. The inspector looked at the damage report and asked, "Captain, I see your starboard lifeboat was completely smashed and torn off its davits during the storm. Did you and your crew conduct a proper Risk Assessment before setting sail?"The captain sighed, pulled out a thick binder, and said, "Yes, absolutely. We did a comprehensive Risk Assessment. We identified the heavy swells, we calculated the wind vectors, we checked the box, signed the form, and filed the paperwork in the ship's folder."The inspector looked confused. "Well, if you did all the paperwork and properly assessed the risks, how did the lifeboat still got destroyed?"The captain replied, "Because unfortunately, the weather didn't read the Risk Assessment🤣😂🙄
